    (i judged by impact, how creative they were, longevity of their music..and thats why pj doesn quite make it..theyre still my fav band of course..i just think u can objectively judge bands)

    this is bullshit. saying that assumes that there was no music before the beatles and that everything evolved from them. that is just plain untrue. i love the beatles but let's not get carried away.

    yes they wwere very influential, but to put the existence of music on their heads is too much.
    i doubt jimmy page and robert plant or ray davies were listening to the beatles when their taste and influences was being germinated. in fact i know they weren't.

    But they were influential in more than just that way. The Beatles and let's be honest The Stones paved the way for Zepplin. Also recording styles. But There would have been music. But The Beatles were really important and not just in the sense that others picked up a guitar.

    the sixties were a time of change regardless of the beatles. though i will admit they were in the thick of it. maybe they were in the right place at the right time.
    personally though, i get no inspiration from the beatles.
