i can't say i'm a big fan of them but i will always love this 2 songs:

Skeletons of society

Minutes seem like days
Since fire ruled the sky
The rich became the beggars
And fools became the wise
Memories linger in my brain
Of burning from the acid rain
A pain I never have won

Nothing here remains
No future and no past
No one could foresee
The end that came so fast
Hear the prophet make his guess
That paradise lies in the west
So join his guest for the sun

Shades of death are all I see
Fragments of what used to be

The world slowly decays
Destruction fills my eyes
Barboring the image
Of a spiralling demise
Burning winds release their fury
Simulating judge and jury
Drifting flurries of pain

Deafening silence reigns
As twilight fills the sky
Eventual supremacy
Daylight waits to die
Darkness always calls my name
A pawn in this recurring game
Humanity going insane

Shades of death are all I see
Fragments of what used to be

Minutes seem like days
Crrosion fills the sky
Morbid dreams of anarchy
Brought judgment in disguise
Memories linger in my brain
Life with nothing more to gain
Perpetual madness remains

Shades of death are all I see
Skeletons of society
Fragments of what used to be
Skeletons of society

Seasons in the abyss

Razors edge
Outlines the dead
Incisions in my head
Anticipation the stimulation
To kill the exhilaration

Close your eyes
Look deep in your soul
Step outside yourself
And let your mind go
Frozen eyes stare deep in your mind as you die

Close your eyes
And forget your name
Step outside yourself
And let your thoughts drain
As you go insane… insane

Inert flesh
A bloody tomb
A decorated splatter brightens the room
An execution a sadist ritual
Mad intervals of mind residuals

Close your eyes
Look deep in your soul
Step outside yourself
And let your mind go
Frozen eyes stare deep in your mind as you die

Close your eyes… and forget your name
Step outside yourself… and let your thoughts drain
As you go insane… insane

Innate seed
To watch you bleed
A demanding physical need
Desecrated eviscerated
Times prostrated

i also love that scene from South Park when Cartman plays Raining blood at that hippie festival..."hippies can't stand death metal"...:D:D:D:D

Slayer is great. Even though Kerry King is an asshole, he comes up with some amazing riffs. Everyone who listens to metal should own raining blood. Crazy shit. My friend bought the dvd where they play about 6 songs and then the whole raining blood album. For the last song, they actually have gallons of blood pour down on the stage. Badass stuff.

anyone purchase their box set with the actual blood packet inside? I do pull their discs out from time to time, I have tons of respect for them however I never felt they were able to put a whole CD together. rarely do I play one in its entirety.

Though I will say that the song South of Heaven has a groove that was not matched by many. They also do a killer Dissident Aggressor. That and the aforementioned Seasons in the Abyss. Man, that song is killer.

SLAYER: New Studio Photos Posted Online - Mar. 6, 2006

SLAYER have posted an in-studio slideshow from the recording sessions for the band's new album, the follow-up to 2001's "God Hates Us All", at Slayer.net.

On Tuesday (Feb. 2 SLAYER entered a Los Angeles studio, where they started recording the 11 songs that'll comprise their yet-untitled CD, according to MTV.com. Rick Rubin (SLIPKNOT, SYSTEM OF A DOWN) will executive-produce the disc, while Josh Abraham (VELVET REVOLVER, STAIND) will turn the knobs. One of the songs has an official title ("Cult"), but all of them, King promised, will be devastatingly grim.

"There are definitely things you can't write about in SLAYER, and there are definitely things people expect you to write about," he said. "Everybody expects war, Satanism or anti-religious stuff — and this record's chock-full of that."

Most of the 11 songs SLAYER will record were written more than two years ago, the guitarist said. "We're hoping to do it old-school and record everything in like four weeks," he added. "We're ready. This is probably the most ready we've been since 'Seasons'. We've been spinning our wheels in rehearsals, just waiting for the green light on this thing. Now that we've got it, we're ready to go.

"It's definitely going to be a riff-fest," King continued. "There's riffs all over the place. As much time as we've had to work on it, there better be riffs on it. I think anybody who likes SLAYER, musically, is going to love it."

SLAYER will be teaming up with LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED for a two-month U.S. tour beginning on June 6. Dubbed the Unholy Alliance Tour, the trek will make stops in most major cities, although the actual routing of the run is still being fleshed out.
