He's barely playing any Scream songs in these setlists... only like 3 or 4. And they are a lot better live anyways, because he uses actual instruments. I thought Long Gone and Watch Out were pretty awesome when he played it live with guitars and stuff, before I heard the studio versions.0

I was thinking boo's were in order, but I don't want to be an ass....thumbs down? I dunno....maybe I'll just go to the can and cry.
The setlist above looks pretty damn good anyway.
Just play it by ear... if other people start booing then join in. I know I will if he comes back to the UK any time soon.0 -

Beavis : Is this Pearl Jam?
Butt-head: This guy makes faces like Eddie Vedder.
Beavis: No, Eddie Vedder makes faces like this guy.
Butt-head: I heard these guys, like, came first and Pearl Jam ripped them off.
Beavis: No, Pearl Jam came first.
Butt-head: Well, they both suck.0 -

See, I'm not sure if I will be able to bring mself to ever attend another CC concert regardless of what music he is playing. Sure, he sounds great and has a tremendous backing band, but will I just stand there the whole time thinking, "what a douche..."?

I feel the same way. I was so upset about this because when i saw him supporting his album before this one, it was an amazing show. I just can't go see him though because its just such a slap in the face to his fan base what he is doing. I mean cornell has always done things his way but its very clear he doesn't care about his music anymore. Its all about that dollar. Thats just my opinion though. If you've never see him, its worth goin at least once. I wouldnt want to take that away from anyone.
and could someone tell me how he could play instruments on the new tracks? Sounds like straight up beat machine to me.0 -

Exactly. I saw him last year and it was a spectacular fuckin' show. In the span of one year, he has gone from my favorite musician to someone that I would prefer never receives another cent of my money. How is that even possible?Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

I'd go to a live solo show if were around my area, but I do have a whole lot less admiration for Chris nowadays. There is a real douchy feeling to him now like you say. I used to think him the real deal - now he seems disingenuous. He won't be getting my $$ for scream that is for sure, if the thing is ever released.0 -
The show was ok. Only one TOTD song (Hunger Strike), and not enough Soundgarden tunes IMO (No Attention, Outshined, Searching, BHS, FOBD, Rusty Cage). Most people I talked to were disappointed with the setlist….
I had to laugh…he has a fully lit disco backdrop that only fires up when he’s playing Scream songs….it was like, “ok, get ready for the suck!” The new stuff was greeted with luke-warm applause (except for the opener which got a good ovation – but I don’t think anyone was cheering the actual song).
One cool thing – the bassist he’s touring with is from this area (Edmonton)….I guess they’re playing his hometown tonight, a town called Bonneyville (pop.5800). I have no idea where they’d play, prob have to be a small hockey arena or a hotel bar.0 -

CC's guitarist Peter Thorn is from Edmonton. The bass player is Corey McCormick from Cali!
Do you know the setlist? The videos from the shows are great!

Chris is either:
1) Broke
2) On Drugs
3) Not living in his body anymore.
I don't get it.
Truthfully I havn't been impressed with anything he has done in the last 10 years.
I wasn't a fan of Euphoria Morning and I thought Audioslave was mediocre at best.
But Jesus Christ!!! at least that music made sense.
This Scream shit is just garbage.
If you were to tell me 10 years ago that Chris Cornell would be playing this type of music, I would have
1) Kicked your ass
2)Committed you to the local mental hospital.
It's an unfathomable and embarrasing decline of a once talented and respected artist.0 -

Well said. Except for the Euphoria Morning bit. Go back and give it a listen some time. Tremendous song writing on display.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

I'm guessing if people don't like the new music he is playing then they shouldn't listen to it.
He's entitled to play and put out whatever music he feels he wants to. It's hardly the "wrong thing to do" just because some people may not like it. I'm guessing he would be bored of putting out the music he was doing twenty years ago.20/04/06 ~ 23/08/06 ~ 09/09/06

I can't find the setlist...I didn't write it down, don't know the new songs, or most audioslave songs by anything other than the track number...don't really like the solo stuff. I'm pretty close to what a diehard CC fan would hate: a guy just there to hear Soundgarden covers....
the lighting was totally over the top for a small venue rock show. It was like he borrowed a scaled down NIN set and disco-fied it. But only for the shitty songs. It was kinda surreal, actually. Like - holy shit its Chris Cornell singing No Attention!....holy shit i'm at a boy band show....holy shit! temple of the dog!... holy shit! who's the illuminated girl dancing at a keyboard?0 -
fair enough...I doubt any of us are actually listening to it.stonesgstring wrote:I'm guessing if people don't like the new music he is playing then they shouldn't listen to it.

he's entitled to put out what he wants, and we (esp as the people that put him in a position to put out what he wants), are entitled to our opinion of how incredibly crappy it is.0 -

There was a illuminated girl dancing at a keyboard? First I hear of that - do tell in more detail please. Thanks for your review. That discofield set sounds whack.
And dont let the drones at cc.com or the street team (one in the same) define diehard fans - you can love the SG stuff the most and still be a "real" fan. Don't sweat it - you like what you like.0 -
I dunno, I was half cut, had a lousy spot, and my eyes are bad...but it was either a girl at a keyboard, or a petite long-haired guy table dancing.n2integrity wrote:There was a illuminated girl dancing at a keyboard? Maybe I'm going nuts....are you telling me they haven't been touring with a keyboardist? lol...there was something going on in front of those lights
I don't really follow him closely, and have only heard of the street team ( ) from this board...I don't pretend to be some huge fan, tho SG did put out a few of my all time fav albums...0
