this whole thread is just an excuse for you to brag that you were at the Zeppelin show!!!!

I'm only kidding. Some of my favorite shows include:

    Roger Waters

    John Fogerty

    Weird Al Yankovic

Up In Smoke (with Dre, Snoop, Eminem, weed, Ice Cube, Warren G, weed, Xzibit, weed)

    Foo Fighters

Red Hot Chili Peppers (though I was cited for underage drinking....like an idiot)

Posion (musicanship? nope. hot milfs as far as the eye can see? word.)

weird al is amazing live. nobody knows, but it's true.

    Sigur Rós
    Incubus
    Eels
    Dredg
    Dave Matthews Band

    All are incredible live.
If I could, think I would give in.

  • Any time that I have saw Neil Young. Page and Plant March 22nd,1995.Smashing Pumpkins in 94. Every time I saw Blind Melon with Shannon Hoon. When Ben Harper opened for PJ in 96',I've caught him since then but it didn't have the same fire as when he was mainly playing the hard reggae style of Fight For Your Mind. And my first show ever was Metallica with The Cult as an opening act so I have to list that one just because it sent me on the road to rock n roll.

For me the two that stand out are 1972 Stones and Neil Young with James as an opener in the early 90's. Both of those blew me away. :)

The Stones with Mick Taylor supporting Exile--- has to be the band's peak IMO. Must have been amazing!

The best gig I've ever been to was a John Martyn gig, surprise surprise. No poncy stage show, just the guv'nor, his band, and the music.

about two weeks ago I would've really had to think about this but the MMJ @ Radio City was just too awesome. I'd pick that one hands down.

    U2- Molson Centre, Montreal, 2001:
still the greatest rock show I've ever witnessed. Words cannot describe how incredible it was.

The Tragically Hip- Sasquatch Festival, 2006:
Best show I've ever seen these guys play. Made every other band on the bill look like amateurs.

Midnight Oil- Race City Speedway, Calgary, 1993:
One of the most powerful live shows I've ever seen. Peter Garrett was by far one of the greatest frontmen ever. A true rock n' roll original. What I wouldn't give to see these guys reunite and tour again.

Rheostatics- Rosza Centre, University of Calgary, 1997:
Played their final song of the night on acoustic guitars while wandering through the crowd, and then they walked up the centre aisle and disappeared out the front doors of the theatre. Classic!

    Wilco- MacEwan Hall, Calgary, 2006:
    Absolutely mind blowing.

    Fishbone- The Republik, Calgary, 1995:
Hands down the craziest mosh pit I've ever seen. It was complete chaos, and a hell of a lot of fun.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."
