  • TMZ posted that "a rep for the band" gave them an official statement about his death.

Don't know how reliable that is, though.

Wow I can't even imagine how the boys can perform given the circumstances. It will be an extremely emotional show for all :(

    whatever....

had something to say.,... but changed it.

No one should ever stand in judgement of the actions of those who have just lost a loved one.

That is all I have to say...

Dude...these guys good, good friend just died and you're going to sit in judgement of them... especially when you know none of them personally?

    That's pretty harsh. :(

Don't bother. He made an idiot comment in this thread earlier and everyone ignored him. Let's do the same now.

I think the band itself is by far the best judge of whether they should cancel the show or play their music in his honor.

He has not been on the whole tour because of his accident. They have had Jeff Coffin from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and Tim Reynolds join them for most of the tour. He lives in LA and was going to see the band perform there tonight, from what I understand.

As for insensitive, I think if they do still perform, it would be because it would be what he would want them to do so for the fans. They are very much like PJ in the fact that they really love their fans.

You quoted me before i changed it...

But yeah. I agree with you 100%.

It's going to be a rough night for all of them I'm sure.

My heart goes out to all of them and his family as well.

Sad, sad news indeed. May he rest in peace.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be more and more ATV-related injuries happening lately? There was a five year old girl in our area who died last weekend from an ATV accident.

I guess they just don't want to let the fans, or LeRoi down, so I understand. I would not be suprised if they cancelled upcoming shows though. I am in shock, such great talent :(

Personally, they may think that it's the best thing to do under the circumstances. Like Pearl Jam and so many other great live bands, these are guys who live for music; maybe there's no place they'd rather be than honoring their friends by playing music together. I don't think I could do the same, but I understand the feeling.
  • Not really sure what to say... kind of reeling with the sadness right now. I've been a DMB fan for a long, long time.

And if they're playing tonight, it's because they feel like it's the right thing to do. End of story. What a difficult night it will be.

Of course, this isn't to say I'm happy that something as this would happen, but often the best music springs from tragedy and loss. I wouldn't be surprised if they laid everything they had out onstage tonight.
