Corgan bashes Eddie

I was at the Smashing Pumpkins show tonight in Chicago, and Billy joked about how he should write his own Cubs song. He pointed out that, aside from his arrogance, you'd have to admit that he could write a better one than Steve Goodman. Then he stated something along the lines of, "...and last I checked Eddie Vedder doesn't live in Chicago". I have to admit, I think Eddie got served.

The show was fucking amazing by the way.

    i think billy corgan gets off on poking fun at ed. i feel bad for billy corgan. the smashing pumpkins were an awesome band..... then they just turned bad. not to mention his side project (i cant remember the name)

    i love the pumpkins but it's too bad that billy is too full of himself. the only reason that band isn't together is because of him. The group he played with tonight wasn't the smashing pumpkins.

    What does living in Chicago got to do with being a fan of the Cubs? I think the majority of sports fans like a team in some sport from outside their own state. Of course Ed was born in Chi-town and loves the team, it's obvious. So who gives a flying fuck where his home is located. Corgan is as jealous of Ed as Cobain was and it's so sad to see these hacks try and bring him down. He's so far above Corgan that it's not even fair to discuss him with Ed in the same sentence. Ed got served, ha. I'm sure he's crying to his classy wife and his rock legend friends as we speak about being served by Corgan for his Cubs song.

    His band now is nothing more than a tribute band of the real Pumpkins. He knows it, all he's after is touring money. They couldn't produce a good song now if they had to. At the peak of the Smashing Suckins songwriting ability, Pearl Jam's B Sides were still better. When someone continues to bash another person, you know it's eating them up inside that the other person is just plain got you beat in life and career.

    Corgan, go put a gun in your mouth and get it over with or better yet, jump back into bed with that crack whore Courtney Love.

    This is a guy who's excuse for quitting music after Machina was he couldn't keep up with Britney Spears..

    I like some of their music, but Billy in not a serious musician, and I'll never take him seriously.

    Now I know Ed pokes fun, but usually he has a good reason..


    And Billy, Glow is a HORRIBLE song.

    I was at one of their shows down in Bloomington-Normal, IL last year and Billy said something about Ed too!

    Some guy he brought down to the front row from the way back was wearing a Pearl Jam shirt and Billy made some remark that sounded like a joke but could tell it was jealousy.

    Billy will never what Pearl Jam is. I am a fan of some of their records though!

    I never and will NEVER understand why the Smashing Pumpkins are SO popular and amazing and all that, Billy's voice is...cringe-worthy and whatever the fuck he's doing now with he's so called "Smashing Pumpkins" is ridiculous, and wow...what a terrible slur to Eddie...I bet Eddie can't live anymore! Ugh...He does have to get over himself! Like many of you said here, he will match up to the juggernaut that is Pearl Jam!

    Billy is so fucking funny, he has been destroying people this tour who just chant out songs. Its really getting to him these days who people just think he is some puppet on strings. He's certainly trying to justiy to people some things this tour. Don't get why people can't just chill and take a joke. If you know anything about the pumpkins its just Billy Banter, underlying it, it could be serious but fuck it who cares really.
