Yeah...I think the voice issues are from the sound in the studio. I've watched the clip a few times at various levels of volume and I think Ed sounds like Ed. Only time I thought for a second there was a voice issue was right in the beginning vocals, but then realized he was down in the mix. After that I thought it was fine.

Oh..and people reading into the facial ticks as something to do with a problem vocally obviously haven't watched them much over the last 18 years!? That's Vedder! Come on people..stop reading into every.single.nuance.

Sometimes its frustrating coming on here. Sure some my like the song..some may not..that's part and parcel of having your own opinion...but come on..."He scrunched his face at the 2:10 mark..so it must mean he is suffering from mass cutaneous throat discombulation..."

    Yeesh.

I thought Ed's performance was quite 2005 Cornell-ish. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

I love the fact people have been saying he looked fat.

Hell if he's fat America has some serious problems.

I never said fat...minor weight gain perhaps...just around the cheeks. Like what happened to me when I quit smoking...never said fat - he's far from fat, and still hot!

Anyone who thinks that was a solid vocal performance is swiming the PJ kool-aid. Hopefully not a sign of things to come and just a bad night. Those cigarettes may be taking their toll. The sound was horrible (on what is probably a rad song).

The highlight of the night was when eddie jumped on the drum stage so he didn't look like a midget next to Conan.

Agreed. I mentioned that last night and had a number of nasty comments directed my way...

Anyways, Ed sounded like complete shit and he was struggling the entire way through that 2.5 minute song (or whatever it was).

Complete shit? Are you fucking serious?

I'm starting to get you: You just fucking hate everything. I mean, everything. Now that I understand where you're coming from, it makes it much easier to ignore you.

I thought Ed sounded great on Conan...yeah his vocal were a little bit softer than the music but I bet it will sound a lot better on the album and live in concert.

I still think Ed is the greatest singer in the world! Can't wait to see him next week in Albany! :D

I can't agree here. Nope. Eddie's voice was not good last night. It sounded hoarse and just way off. This doesn't ruin the song for me because I haven't really heard it.

Were yo all watching America Idol or a rock band last night?

You want perfect, there's Josh Groban and the like.

I'll take a rock band and a rock singer. It's rock, it shouldn't sound perfect and clean live.

Hmmm ... he sounded hoarse going for a couple notes here and there. I think "way off" is a vast overstatement.

Atta boy. This is an excellent point. I'm sure when Ed retires, the boys can just hire Michael Bolton to front the band. There are a couple of folks here who would love that.

PM me if it's not OK to link it here.

If you go the website that first linked it, it diverts you to a post on this forum, but that post is no longer there so my conclusion is that its no longer ok to post it here.

    would love a copy myself.
