Just saw Ben Harper and the R7 cover "Good Times, Bad Times" on Palladia and it was very good. Kind of pissed now that I am going to have to pass them up for a decent spot for PJ. C3 has got to know they have similar fans....fuck!

of course they know. i honestly think they do it on purpose. spreads the crowd out a bit.

But why spread the crowd out for the main headliner??? Maybe spread it out the night before for DMB but come on, most Pearl Jam fans are also fans of Ben Harper.

That said, as much as I have complained about C3, the Them Crooked Vultures addition is outstanding!!

i agree with you. i just think they like to spread out the good stuff around the park. and i do think they do it to help out crowd congestion in the park. especially before sunday nights headliner. basically, i dont think they want most of the 65,000 camping out at one end of the park most of the day.

Agreed, that side of Zilker looks like it is going to be really congested aside from people that venture out to see Ben Harper and/or Dan Auerbach. At this point I dont really give a shit where I am for PJ, I am going to see them at the Spectrum and as long as I can hear and rock out I am all good. 1 MONTH!!!!

get a good or at least decent spot. and make your move before the dead weather, at least. 65,000 is a lot of people, and the back 1/3 of the crowd dont always hear the show that well. at least that was my experience for Tom Petty a few years ago. plus, its a festival crowd. you dont want to be stuck in the back with the 'spectator' type folks waiting for evenflow and alive and who will talk when they play Smile.

i know!! what an awesome addition!! this made my day! plus, they're playing @ Stubb's on Thursday! 8-)

So excited for that! I bought a ticket for the aftershow (even though it's technically before ACL- whatevs). Can't believe it costs $50 for a show at Stubb's! Oh well, I guess they did it because they're in such high demand for tickets.

    Gotcha in the other thread.

Yes we will coordinate something Saturday. Supposedly they are going to simulcast the ACL TV taping in an auditorium on the UT campus. Need to find out more about that because I would definitely like to hit that Saturday night.

I have a opportunity to be in Austin that weekend, as luck would have it i need to make a business trip to Dallas...so i am going to go hard at getting a pair of tickets for the 4th and will plan to drive down. I understand the show is sold-out but i have some questions:

what is the seating arrangement like ? i.e. shed, configuration etc..?
Was there a 10c pre-sale for this festival show ?

    thanks!

There is no seat configuration, the early you get there the closer you will be as long as you willing to stand there all day to not lose your spot, I mean right up front, you can come back later and get a spot still, probably not to close to the stage though.

    There was no 10C pre-sale.
