ACL ROLL CALL

Does anyone remember South Park Meadows? PJ has bad luck playing in Austin... maybe that is why they haven't played here since then.
I think Guster has had bad Austin experiences... who else?0 -
There are semi-circle shaped areas in front of every stage where CHAIRS ARE NOT ALLOWED. So if you plan on being up front, you'll need to stash your chair at the American Airlines lockers. I'm not sure how much they are charging. Or, bring a blanket. The entire area was re-sodded according to someone that lives nearby Zilker Park.
Ladies, bring tissue for when the porta-potties run out of TP.
The mosquito repellent is for real. They come out at dusk and at night mostly but are also in shady areas.
See you there..... can't wait to see them in my own city!~I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings called human, but I want to realize identity with all life, even with such things as crawl upon earth.~

FYI - suppose to rain, 2 to 4 inches this weekend in Austin, so be prepared.
Don't miss them crooked vultures on friday. Too many good bands to miss out on, but Sunday is what really counts!Dallas, Texas (June 09, 2003) | New York, New York (June 24, 2008) | Austin, Texas (October 04, 2009) | New York, New York (May 20, 2010) | Dallas, TX (November 15, 2013) | Oklahoma City, OK (November 16, 2013) | Oklahoma City (September 20, 2022)0 -

Cold Front Arrives Late Today
We're in for more clouds than sunshine today... a tropical, warm, and breezy Thursday full of weather transition! Another cold front drops south through the Lone Star State, arriving here this evening. Our outlook for October: wetter than average!
There's a 30% chance for showers and storms to break out before the front arrives then a 40% overall rain chance tonight, so be ready for possible slick streets. The Storm Prediction Center advises a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather here through Friday morning, namely in the form of damaging winds and hail in the strongest storms. Showers will end and clouds eventually break up tomorrow, though temps won't rebound more than low 80s.
Wetter Weekend... Pull out your galoshes, we're looking at a much wetter setup of steady rain that looks to take hold for Saturday and parts of Sunday -- a 50% rain chance now -- with potential for 2-4 inches in our area. Not what we had hoped to hear with the ACL Festival in mind, but we sure do need that rain.
Where is it coming from? A disturbance we watched move off the west coast of Mexico is now southwest of Baja, and the subtropical jet stream is now picking up some of the moisture and streaming it towards Texas. Eventually, the low pressure area itself is expected to flow right up to Texas, adding greater instability and uplift to an already moist atmosphere.

Just got the ACL insert from the new Chronicle delivered here to work. Found some things you all may be interested in, particularly out-of-towners:
1. It looks like the shuttles don't start running until 10:00 a.m.
2. Waterloo Records is going to have a tent. You can go in and sign-up to win an Ames Poster signed by all the band members. WHAT A SCORE!!!!!!!
3. If you park in some of the surrounding neighborhoods, you could get towed.
3. American Airlines WILL have a bag and chair check stand.
4. Food Items look to be priced around $6 - $7 average. There's a vendor called Boomerang's who claims to have the fastest lines and serves meat as well as vegetarian and vegan pies. Of course there's everything else under the sun and prices go up, the more "sophisticated" your tastes are.
Also, the music critic gave Backspacer a fairly decent review.
