I sure hope I meet some of you guys there close to the stage after the gates open. I would like to grab a spot for my chairs and stuff but my GF wants to leave to go see Ben Harper. I hope I make friends so we can latch onto a group and I can take her to see him and not worry about losing a good spot that we secure early in the day.Austin, TX - 9/16/95 ~ Charleston, SC - 10/5/96 ~ Dallas, TX - 7/5/98 ~ San Antonio, TX - 4/5/03 ~ Denver, CO - 7/2/06 ~ EV - LA #2 - 4/13/08 ~ Austin, TX - 10/4/09 ~ Los Angeles, CA #1 - 11/23/13 ~ Los Angeles, CA #2 - 11/24/13 ~ Seattle, WA - 12/6/13 ~ NYC #1 - 5/1/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 8/5/16 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 8/7/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 9/2/18 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 9/4/18 ~ Louisville, KY - 9/17/22 ~ Ft. Chuy's will be tought to get to since I think they shut that road down at the S. Lamar intersection. If you are around the city Saturday, check out a place called Quatro's by campus. It's my buddies place and great for college FB watching with tons of flat screens. You can definitely walk to Chuy's, but there are a lot of good ones on Barton Springs. Baby Acapulco's is a decent Mexican restaurant and serves a purple margarita made with everclear. FYI - they will only let you have two. Also there's Shady Grove, which is a sweet outdoor / indoor venue. You really can't go wrong any place you hitAustin, TX0 -

Thanks. I am getting there.
I have been so sick and so busy and out of the state that I haven't really thought about it.

Yeah...if you are at the festival walking is no problem. One guy said he was just going to be around town on Sat. and I would not recommend trying to get down in there unless you are headed to the show. Great food! I miss my hometown. :-(
Cuatro's is great Near campus (1004 24th St. and San Gabriel) Flat screens everywhere and a huge wall of screens outside showing one image all pieced together. Pretty sick. http://www.cuatrosaustin.com/Austin, TX - 9/16/95 ~ Charleston, SC - 10/5/96 ~ Dallas, TX - 7/5/98 ~ San Antonio, TX - 4/5/03 ~ Denver, CO - 7/2/06 ~ EV - LA #2 - 4/13/08 ~ Austin, TX - 10/4/09 ~ Los Angeles, CA #1 - 11/23/13 ~ Los Angeles, CA #2 - 11/24/13 ~ Seattle, WA - 12/6/13 ~ NYC #1 - 5/1/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 8/5/16 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 8/7/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 9/2/18 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 9/4/18 ~ Louisville, KY - 9/17/22 ~ Ft. Billy's Beer-B-Que, on Barton Springs, brews their own beer and has the best, I mean the best Hefeweizen I've ever had. And I loves me some hef. Even a friend of mine who hates beer loved it. BBQ's not bad either.0

Artz Ribhouse has great food...If i remember correctly, it's about 2 miles from the park, on South Lamar.
Stevie Ray Vaughn used to stop in there and jam when I was in college.

There are a shit ton of bars and restaurants on S. Lamar not far from the park.0 -

The purple. Ugh - That leads to craziness quickly. Only 2 allowed. You really only need 1.0 -

if you leave for Ben Harper then you'll have no chance of getting back to the front for PJ because hundreds of people will have packed in during that time. Tell your GF that Ben is good but PJ is the best!“May you live to be 100 and may the last voice you hear be mine.” - Frank Sinatra0 -
btw, any bets on what the guys are going to open with? I'm putting my money on Release but I'm hoping for a rocking Brain of J!!“May you live to be 100 and may the last voice you hear be mine.” - Frank Sinatra0
