Getting pumped for the solo shows to start. Even though I'm not going, it's quite fun to read the sets as they happen.

  • I'll drink some Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter before the Chicago Shows. Great Beer!

I'm going to East Lansing today so if I get a chance I'll try and find the EF beer at one of the MSU party stores.
  • ereeper1ereeper1 Posts: 233
I could not find the EF beer yesterday so bought Corona instead. I think I'll locate sometime before the show.

These solo shows have been fun to read about. How about another solo tour in 2010 and a stop at the State Theatre in Kalamazoo, MI. That place would be perfect!!!

I'm thinking about which songs I have not heard live yet. If you could pick any song off of Ten, what would you choose to hear live at Chicago 1? I'd really like to catch Once or Release. I'll lean towards Release. I always thought it would be cool to hear as an opener live.

I hope the Philly show tonight is great. This is the one I considered going to see. I'll be in Pittsburgh on Sat./Sun. and had I had a little more notice I may have thrown Philly in there for an Ed show. Here's to hope that we may get another EV tour in the future.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down

Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee

The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead

When the skies of November turn gloomy.

With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more

Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty

That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed

When the gales of November came early

The ship was the pride of the American side

Coming back from some mill in Wisconson

As the big freighters go it was bigger than most

With a crew and the Captain well seasoned.

Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms

When they left fully loaded for Cleveland

And later that night when the ships bell rang

Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling.

The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound

And a wave broke over the railing

And every man knew, as the Captain did, too,

T'was the witch of November come stealing.
