Well I started this up back in 2006 prior to the Grand Rapids show. Now that I will be in Chicago in 2009 and on the other side of Lake Michigan I figured we should rally the troops and get it done again.

Yes, I know it went down in Superior. I've heard the song a time or two.

I'd rather them play a song by the band Chicago.

Well actually the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk in Lake Superior, Ontario - you can't get anymore Canadian than that....I was at GR when Eddie mentioned it and he seemed to look in the direction of us Canadians who were there - priceless!!!! Funny thread.
    Peace,

  • You know, when I saw this thread title, i thought...'Some dude tried this for Grand Rapids a couple years ago.' Then, at the same time i thought, 'nah, couldn't be.' and THEN i clicked and chuckled. Good luck, again, dude. You DID, in a sense, get mentioned at a show and influenced the digital CD artwork that came with the boot, after all!

I was ecstatic when Ed joked about playing it in Grand Rapids Eric! I'll be there too, cheering for The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and wearing my Play Alpine Valley T-shirt. :D
    I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

    SECONDED!

25 or 6 to 4 would be the only exception.
AskPearlJam: PearlJama101-guest says: Who's idea was it for Eddie to play banjo on "Soon Forget"?
Eddie: I don't know whose idea it was but it was turned down.

Since today is Mother's Day, my mother would like to have this song played at Chicago 1 too.

Well in order to get ready for this special night and the three years plus that it's been since I've seen the band, I'm going to listen to the boots from all my shows.

This morning, I will be listening to Indy 200. What a special show for my debut and I was hooked from the start. Can't wait to relive that night one more time!!!

I'll be listening to the Detroit 2000 show today. My first indoor show.

^^^I did this just the other day. Started with Indy 2k and everything.

It's been fun listening to Indy 2000 and Detroit 2000 the last couple of days. My first two shows in the pre-Boom era. Indy was so magical for a first show and Detroit was not quite the event that Indy was, was still great in a lot of ways.

The disturbing thing was how Eddie talked about how Detroit might be getting smaller everyday before Elderly Woman. At the time in 2000, I doubt it was shrinking, but today it sure is and it's sad.

    Anyway, back to good news...

...tomorrow will be Grand Rapids 2004 on the way to and from work.
  • ereeper1ereeper1 Posts: 233
Today is not Grand Rapids 2004. I skipped right over my three shows I went to in 2003. So today's trip down memory lane will be Indy 2003.

Got the rest of the way through Indy 2003 yesterday. I would love to see another show in Indy someday. Tomorrow it will be Detroit1 2003. The journey continues...

Out of the 6 shows I've seen, Indy 03 is the best, pretty well hands down.

    What are your six shows?

    I think I would rank Indy 2003 4th of my 8 shows.

    Indy 00
    St Lou 03
    Chicago 03
    Indy 03
    St Lou VFC 04
    Boston 2 08

I'd rank Indy 2000 over 2003, but maybe I'm biased since that was my first show.
