Nay. I'd like something similiar to Metallica's system where you get a unique Tickemaster pre-sale password in your profile and it's good for each show with a 2 or 4 ticket limit. You can actually pick your seats and in order to cut down on scalping, you have to pick up at will-call. The seats are generally fantastic as well.

They have this? I've been saying PJ should have this. Didn't realize this was actually in-use.

...Metallica does take care of their fans. When I used to work for the promoter in NYC, I had to line up fan club members who actually got to meet the band. That's pretty cool that they do that.

Oh, and NAY. PJ... look at what Metallica is doing. Seriously.

Nay, but not because I didn't win. It's fine for a small EV show.... but I just don't dig the waiting to know about the pj shows. (I'd rather the excitement and frustration of 'refresh' than the waiting for the email ;) )

If they use this system for Pearl Jam tours it will be a bad bad move (I think a lot people will turn on them). However, as much as I hate to admit it, since I was not picked for this tour by 10c, this system makes sense for these small theater shows.

Yeah they are amazing to their fans. They pick 30 clubbers per show to go backstage. The other morning for the MSG pre-sale, Ticketmaster conveniently F'ed up and didn't release any GA Pit tickets or Good seats. This was 10am eastern time but 7am PST where the Metclub is. Their employees were on the phone with ticketmaster immediately and got the situation worked out. In the meantime, people had panicked and ordered shitty seats not knowing if there would be any good ones. The club worked it out so that those people could trade for pit or better seats and the promoter personally contacted them. For the rollover show that went onsale Saturday, they held back most of the Pit and good seats for a Metclub presale yesterday. I love the presale password thing.

Nay...I like it for the smaller shows but the Metallica method seems good for PJ shows. If 10c can set up a similar system that would be sweet.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

i'll find a way to shows either way... but i'd prefer they not do a lottery for 10C members

Big fat nay for me too. if it wasn't for this lottery shit I was prepared to try to buy tickets for at least 4 Ed shows if it would have been like last tour. Instead I have to put my trust in a corrupt TM or sit it out. Ed is totally worth being raped by Ticketmaster though so

Nay!! I didn't like it when I heard they would do it, and especially now since I wasn't one of the lucky few, I especially don't. Maybe I'm just plain unlucky when it comes to winning anything.

Nay, the 2006/2008 system worked best, give everyone a week or so notice and it will be fine.

gotta say no, yeah it's fair for everyone and all... but not for the people that check the pit all the time and know what and when things are going on, who should have a small advantage I think...

I do like the seat lottery though, that was great. Switch up the rows this year, like 1,3,5,and 9 or something haha.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Not unless the band also does small venue shows, which would be amazing if you got a ticket and terrible if you didn't.

    nope!

but here's hoping pearl jam doesn't play any ticketmaster / live nation venues! would love if those venues could give pearl jam more freedom and please as much 10club members to get into the centre!

example .. halifax metro centre! which is not run by ticketmaster!

I still think this system would work best for shows like The Vic in 07 and Atlantic City in 05, but no need for the 20000 seat arenas and amphitheaters.

No way...since there are so many more tickets for PJ shows. This was understandable for such small shows for EV.

    Nay!!!

I'm not lucky enough to hit any 10 Club lotto. I'd rather fight with everyone for tickets online when they go on sale. I think I'd have better luck.
