Well then looks like there will be a lot of partying going on with OLF and possible SB bowl! For those of you who will be attending OLF, let's line up all together and make the most fun out of it. Just a word of caution to those who use Att as cellphone carrier, no reception in GG park unfortunately. They suck when it comes to reception around the park. So if you're thinking about testing friends and stuff well you might want to forget about that :)

I'm waiting to see what other shows there are until I figure out my flights and all.. But I'll start taking applicants at any time for people who would be willing to put me up/show me around NorCal for a couple days.. never been there before and would love to make a week of it or something... I'm making this my big vacation of the summer one way or another. :)

Let me know if you'd like to entertain a young, fun, Wisconsinite! I buy beer!

Ugh...Can you buy just one ticket? It doesn't appear like you can. I wouldn't mind heading to San Fran but I'd love to know the rest of the tour before I put down all this money :o

I don't think you can purchase a ticket for just 1 day... well, not at the moment at least. :(

My stomach is sick I’m so excited. Got tickets for OLF, my inlaws live in the East Bay so it’s an easy ride on Bart and Muni right to the park. I’m stoked PJ will be Friday, we will all still be very fresh! And are you kidding me about the Bowl?!? Two shows!!! At the BOWL!!! Missed their first show there as we were living in the Bay Area at the time and couldn’t get away from work, but caught the last one. My wife and I will be riding our bikes to those. Anyone for a PJ bicycle to the show preparty?

Single day tickets will go on sale at a later date. Last year they went on sale in early May and were $85. I wish they mentioned this on their website. I've seen this question asked about 25 times in the last 3 days. I guess Outside Lands must not want fans to know about single day tickets in hopes that they'll just buy a 3 day pass. Hopefully this thing is not the disaster that many fans claim it was last year http://www.yelp.com/biz/outside-lands-m ... -francisco

sound was aweful last year. There were multiple interruptions. At one point Tom Petty and the band had to leave the stage it was that bad. We bought single tickets last as we were only interested in the first and the second days. This year though I want to see the entire thing. SB shows would be kick ass too. Also someone said something about a three-day stint at the Civic. That would be awesome but I don't think it would happen.

i heard about that as well, and wondered if it will be fixed.

also i thought bands had to agree not to play close to festival site a couple weeks before and after, does anyone know about that?

hmm, well, I don't know if that's true but if it is then that would put a stop on the SB shows rumors which would suck. I really want to see them at SB Bowl.

I don't know if it's true, but if it is, it would only a local thing (bay area) ... it wouldn't cover Santa Barbara ....

Dave Matthes is playing in Fresno the night after his Outside Lands appearance, so, PJ could play So Cal

For Coachella, bands are not allowed to play the greater Los Angeles area before or after the festival ... but, they all play in San Francisco around that time ... so, you can keep your Santa Barbara hopes alive.

I just wanted to say that sweet adeline's signature is so fucking funny and true! And I'm thinking members of KOL should listen to that suggestion considering the amount of girls they go through after every show :)

  • Should we have a get together the night before (Thursday) like we did for Bridge 06? This can make up for the fact that it isn't feasible for a pre-show party the day of due to the "5 AM" wait in line situation.

Reference to SOLAT319 joking in another thread that we start getting in line that early. We'll get there early, but just not that early. Plus, I need time to pickup bagels for everyone. :)

Ah, the rumors swirl! Luvin it -- I would hope they pull off something like Chicago in, uh, '07? Prior to the OLF, they go play the Warfield or the Filmore, 10C only, warm-up of just all their deep stuff and save all the "known" tunes for the festival! Ahh, a man can dream -- but I'm totally diggin dreamin' of SB too! I think that'll be the limit for me -- OLF, SF tour dates and SB. Was really thinkin SD and LV too but, eh, a man's gotta fly to Philadelphia these days to see Eddie!

I'll bring pastries for the 5AM OLF Line! Walnut Creek Baking Club! mmmmmmm.....

(uh, is BART even open that early?)

Soooo...I guess for clarity's sake, I should emphasize the fact that I was only JOKING with the "5AM" reference. However, I do believe that if you have a desire to get your spot on the rail, I would say that you might want to get there early. Because for one thing, you will be competing for that spot with me and I am thinking plenty of other people :)
Also, acutejam, a man and a woman for that matter, certainly can dream! It would be heavenly if we had a secret show like that.

The festival starts @ like 5pm on Friday right? I was looking @ a schedule for last year and they only had a few bands play Friday, looks like Pearl Jam would play like a 7-9 or 8-10 (thats what last years Friday headliner looked like)...do you guys and gals all have hotels hooked up yet? Im going out with my fiance, would love some hotel info

I found a hotel that's close enough to walk and has free parking. http://oceanviewmotelsf.com/ It actually got decent reviews on Trip Advisor. Plus it's only $85 a night. It's across the street from Ocean Beach. I'm planning on relaxing at the beach for a few hours before walking to the show. I booked it as soon as the show was announced. There's almost no hotels near Golden Gate Park. Last year the few hotels near the venue were booked solid by early June. You could always stay near Union Sqaure but you'll have to take buses and pay ridiculous parking rates at the hotel. It's not the best show for out of towners. The logists are kind of a mess. You could also stay out of town and take BART into the city but that's a headache as well. Especially after the show when you'll be fighting 50,000 other fans for a bus.

Just so you know, this is a bit of a hike to the festival. Your best bet is to take the N-Judah train from 48th Ave to a stop at 32nd or 33rd ave (if memory serves me correctly). There is a festival entrance on the south side of the park that's two blocks up from Judah Street. You could walk it from where you're staying, but I'd guess it's about a mile, and then, it's not a straight shot into the park, so, plan accordingly.

Good news, your trains will be going in the opposite direction of the majority of the festival going traffic.
