and as far as putting a cap on this lottery???
limiting it to the first 1000 people????

    im gonna say NO....

these are special solo shows....at smaller venues....
with only 50-100 pairs(maybe more, maybe less) available....

the 10club found a way for every member to get a fair chance at scoring tickets...
the 10 club gave us 3 days to put in our requests.....
some people cant sit at a computer in the middle of the day and try for tickets....
    everyone has a fair chance.....

to me it just seems like the 10club did the best thing..............

Agreed in regards to EV tour, only :)

They'd be shooting themselves in the wallet if they started limiting peeps to just one show per tour.
    disagree........

up until 2003 it was one show only.....right???

the only people worried are the obsessive freaks whose entire life would be in ruins if they couldnt go to 20 shows a tour................
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

    I disagree w/your disagree-ing :)

Obsessive freaks will travel to shows they wouldn't ordinarily go to. They'll schedule a few extra shows to the trip, spur-of-the moment hit up MORE extra shows, etc. They'll call their other obsessive freak friends to travel with them, thereby getting THEM to go to all the shows. Then of course you need a poster of every show you've been to, as well as a bootleg of them all to - include at least one t-shirt and two other doodads per person and it all begins to add up to a fairly significant amount per person.

Times that by the 300+ obsessive freaks here and that's got to make some kind of dent in their bank account.

Besides, my life would be in ruins!

To be fair though... no one sat at their computer for 1-5 hours and got tickets either :)

I think the system is an over-reach, but hopefully more people get to go now and enjoy the shows!

I think that's very true for some people.

I can see how people would bitch if they didn't get tickets due to the website being overloaded, but how on earth will people feel justified to complain if they are not chosen to get tickets?

Will people blame the band for their own bad luck?

Also, I wonder if those people who lobbied for the partial abolishment of seniority (so that more people would have a chance to get close) are now against the lottery system because it may lessen their chances to get tickets.

Gotta love the some of the overly self-serving people here!

Last summer I spent a couple of days and several hours each time sitting in front of my computer trying to get tickets...no luck...I've belonged to the fan club since 1995...and you know what? It all worked out...I showed up at 3 shows and had a postive attutude. I ended up in the 20th row in VA Beach, 10th row floor in DC and 10th row for Eddie Vedder in DC.

In the old days you just sent the check and the mail and went to will call and got your tickets. You didn't know where you where sitting what was sold but they always took care of you.

Yes I have seen them in the front row, the 4th row, the 5th row etc...I just felt really lucky to be there and see the band!!!

Intention is cause...meaning nothing was going to stop me from seeing the band this summer and I made it go right...just some food for thought.

I really like the new system for solo shows.......not as exciting, but more balanced and fair.

I don't think they will change the way ticket buying works for full PJ shows though.......
