I also like this system. Seems fair that everyone will get a chance. Seems odd though that I had to find out on the board though - I never got an email about tour (although maybe they restricted that to US/Canadian people?)

I got an email yesterday little after the tkts went on sale, it could have been that they emailed on US and Canadian 10C members like you said.

That would make sense. No point wasting time telling me when I can't buy tickets anyway
common sense tells me that the 10club has no reason to use this system for PEARL JAM shows....
unless of course the amount of tickets they are allowed to give to fan club members has changed...
there seems to be PLENTY of tickets available to 10club members as is......right?????
BUT.....just the thought of not being able to go to 20 shows and sit in your precious seats and continue your imaginary relationship with Edddie Vedder has some of you people ALL WORKED UP...........
and i love it.....
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

I'm not really sure what to think of this system...
I think I don't mind it, cause I'm not going to any shows...hmmm
I can't see this happening with a full blown tour, though...
It's just weird how the 10C is constantly changing the system...its like they actually listen to the people that constantly bitch around here??? There are going to be people that are upset EVERYTIME, no matter what...
Find a way that works (thought you had) and stick with it!! A new system for each tour is redonk, figure it out!!

well i think a lot of people think they have a personal relationship with the band... which is effin delusional
even more so are a lot of the posts on this forum... it seems like people think the band actually sits and read the crap they write
however i dont care where the hell i sit at the shows... i just want the option to go to as many as i can, because i can... i went to 17 in 06... some seats were great, others were horrible... i dont care where i sit...just as long as i am in the door... and as of right now... im in it for the black red yellow... once i hear/see that one live, than i can hang up my touring slippers
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
The new system just prolongs the bitching until they choose who doesn't get to go..that's about all....
If the demand for this leg is real high, I predict we may see a record number of bitch threads(which is saying something on this site) once folks don't get selected for tix after having purchased the opportunity.
I suspect Philly and Albany will be the most likely locations for a lot of folks to get denied.
oh are you kidding? we've only seen the beginning of the bitchin', wait until they send notification of who won and who didn't.... I can only imagine what the board will look like that day! :?
My two qualms: perhaps if it's a lottery say "lottery" before you say IMPORTANT at the bottom, yeah?
It really sounded up until that point that they were actually going to sell tickets.
Also, I didn't get the email. I got the one about the eventful year, but not the crucial one about shows.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.
well i think a lot of people think they have a personal relationship with the band... which is effin delusional
Me and the band are like this *gestures crossing fingers*....They share their music with me, and in return I give them a percentage of my paychecks. That's as personal as it gets!
I think the new system is fair but only makes sense for these very small venues with limited tickets. So kudos to them for that and good luck for all of you trying to get tickets.
The 2008 system was just fine I thought. Never had to wait more than 2 minutes to get tickets to the three shows I went to (Hartford, both Mansfield shows). I know MSG was an issue but that is only because the entire 10C tried to get tickets to those two shows. If they have pulled off a full 70+ date tour instead of only 10 or 12, we may not have had that problem.

exactly....
This system was perfect for these solo shows.....imo

I appreciate the fact that 10c keeps listening to the members and find ways to improve the system. Its shows how much they do listen. It’s a lot of headaches not only on the fan side when the system crashes but also for the admins to sort the whole mess out.
Luckily I didn't have an issue with the 08 ticket purchases.
I hope this method brings more sanity to both the 10c and everyone buying.
( To me it’s not the best idea that 10c has ever come up with but just my opion and you know what they say about opinions..)
As for a Pearl Jam show I really hope this is will NOT be the method of purchase.
No matter what happens around here someone is going to be unhappy no matter how hard they try, no matter how many changes take place........ Not everyone can get a ticket or have the best seat.
Best of luck to everyone who put in for a seat and enjoy both Eddie and Liam!
( I almost purchased so my son could see Liam again. He is amazing if you have not seen him yet )
Eddie was pretty good too

nobody sat on their computer for 1-3 hours....only to get shut out....
nobody had tickets in their cart.....only to lose them when the entered their credit card number....
nobody was charged $10,000 for tickets they never had......
Its not a perfect system(maybe a little more notice next time???)
BUT ITS A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN IT WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the idea was nice and more relaxed, but when about 80% of people don't get tickets because of the lottery it will be ugly in here.
I mean take Philly for example. The Tower holds 3,200 people. With the 10% fan club rule that TM has that means only about 160 pairs are available.
I'm guessing that at least 2-3k people will be trying for each night. So when you do the math you almost have a better shot winning the lottery for front or second row at a PJ show then getting a pair of fan club seats.

I agree - especially for the most popular shows. I think there should have been a cap for the lottery. Like first 1000 people who try are eligible for tickets and the lottery is closed. I mean for the next couple of days and most likely until Monday the entire Philly fan base will be sweating it out and whoever else tried.
In some ways it's worse than knowing instantly you got tickets.

Scalpers are going to have a field day with these. I mean when the Rolling Stones played the Tower a few years ago they were the most expensive tickets on the entire tour for them on the secondary market.
