The Murphy love fest is quickly sinking as the days go on. The guy has done nothing..It's the same old song and dance from Met management hyping up their prospect..I'm not saying Murphy won't be good, and of course as a Met fan I certainly hope he hits the shit out of the ball and turns out to be a good, if not great every day player..

With that said..personally I've never seen an outfielder on a routine throw to the plate check down to the shortstop. I understand he's transitioning into a new position, but he is a young strong kid and if he really can't make a simple/short throw to the plate, then what the fuck is he doing out there? It's a huge liability and unless he starts producing big numbers, it just won't work....not to mention the lazy fly ball drop..come on!!

Anyway, I'm still behind this kid, but am and have been very cautious with these prospects the Mets love to shove in our faces..as we unfortunately all know, it usually doesn't pan out..

I was thinking of the famous Alex Escobar when I read your post. I think he'll be decent, but we'll know more when he gets a full trip through the league and there's a book on his tendencies at the plate and in the various counts and if he makes the necessary adjustments once that happens.

him and reyes worked on that play during spring training cause he doesn't have an outfield arm. He's been a infielder all his life and to throw him out there is wrong and could damage him. He's a great hitter and I love him battind 2nd. He needs to be put back at 2nd base.

Wow, these motherfuckers really never hit in the clutch, do they? Same shit, different year. Once again on Sunday they had a million opportunities, and yet again the big hitters came up short. Very concerning..

  • the mets just seem to be a team on the brink of winning big, playing 500 ball or getting blown out every single game they play could present all 3 options. they can hit until they have to. they can pitch until they have to. they just cant stay ahead. they are yet to lose big blowout style games like the guys in the bronx but at this point, id rather that then the midgame, late inning meltdowns. anyway, its still early. and im high on the bullpen, and murphy who i believe will turn his defensive woes around sooner than later.

fundamentally strong? Have you seen Skip Shumaker try and play 2nd base? I won't even get into LaRussa's management style.

Again ... not even 15 games in the books. Relax. Hell, they may win this game today.

Yeah I hear you, but they come ready to play..everyone making plays all over the place..

And as we speak, Beltran hits a 3 run homer..I love this motherfucker..I always have, even when the fans all hated him a few years back..he's the shit!

yea so ummmmmmm we suck. im sorry this is the worst pitcher staff ever in the teams history. we got not heart. theres not one clutch player on this team. i cant wait till when where 15 games out in august. this teams needs a major shake up right now. i'd trade wright for a pitcher maybe try to get one of the rays pitchers and move murphy back to 3rd base then put sheff in left field and keep church in right. i usally live by tug's motto of ya gotta believe but this team just looks dead. i've never felt this way ever bout a mets team.

Pedro anyone? It's pitching, it's the starting pitching that's the problem..and of course Murphy playing the outfield like a girl ;)..

they're not very good and looking dead, but the worst pitching staff in the history of the team was 1962 or that wonderful 1993 team of 59-103. They won't trade Wright and Tampa Bay isn't giving up any of those pitchers. The Sheffield experiment never should have started, he's got nothing left.

You sure you didn't feel the same way when they played to get Randolph fired last spring?

62 was our first year in the majors course the team was gonna be bad. who could ever forget the great anthoy young and the rest of that 93 team.

nope i didnt feel this way cause i thought willie really did suck as manager . i think they really should trade wright hes nothing but another hojo. i also think its bout time omar takes some heat for this. hes the one that built this team yea we sure dont manny huh omar . only good thing omar did was sign beltran and steal johan from the twins.

Fair enough, I thought he lost the team when Tony Bernazard starting leaking stuff to the papers. I don't think they should trade Wright to Tampa unless they get Longoria back, which obviously isn't happening.

I definitely agree with you on Omar and I think he will if the team tanks to the tune of 73-89 etc. If they go 89-73 and fight down to the last week with the Phillies he stays.

Can't wait for Mets/Phills on Wednesday night..Santana scheduled to pitch!! Anyone else going?

I'm sick and tired of Delgado and especially Castillo. Castillo slapping at the ball like a little bitch I just simply can't take anymore, and now making dumb lazy errors on top of it..Motherfucker. I'd rather Alex Cora any fucking day..

Delgado is an asshole for dropping that fucking pop-up..another lazy good for nothing shit..and I hate that the team is forced to look to this guy for leadership when obviously he doesn't give a shit about winning and playing hard..put him on the fucking DL for the rest of the season..I'd rather Tatis any fucking day..

I'm going to give that the Francesa handwave even though it was a lazy play. He's only here for the rest of the season, use him for his hitting and be done with it. I'm pretty sure if you saw Tatis play for 10-15 days straight, you'd want to go back to Delgado, but I agree with you on Luis Castillo. He is hated so much that a few weeks ago I was in diner in Brooklyn and all of sudden I hear some older woman start yelling loudly, "what do they have these old guys like Castillo for (think Jack Klompus there).

The old broad is right on the money! I'm just sick of Delgado and his lazy don't give a shit demeanor, which ultimately rubs off on the other players..not worth his one solo home run for every 10 fucking strike outs..
