Anybody got a rope so I can hang myself on the brooklyn bridge. Better yet ill jump into the hudson river and mutate into a rays fan or some other team. This season is like getting stabbed in the heart over and over and over. I swear this team finds new ways to lose a game.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

Nah, a bunch of millionaires and six figure triple A players attempting to play a kids game isn't worth resorting to that. I think the team is just cursed in some way.

Are Philly fans really gloating about beating a team that has been decimated by injury like no other in history, whose only every day player left standing (watch the stairs) is Luis Castillo, who subsequently is the team's MVP..lol....and still somehow the fighting Phills managed to lose Friday and just barely escaped yesterday with a freak play after being handed a six run lead....have fun knocking around Parnell this afternoon..

Apparently Jeff Francouer is in the hospital for injuring his thumb.

Someone on the Mets got hurt, go figure.

Unbelievable, just when you think it can't get any worse something happens..I accepted Delgado and Reyes being out for the season, which was obviously bad enough..but then the infamous dropped pop-up, Beltran going down, Maine's arm falling off, possible career ending hit to wright's head, Niese collapsing on the mound, castillo falling down the stairs, Omar disaster, triple play to end a game...etc..

Francouer was brought in due to his durability..I don't think the guy has ever missed a game because of an injury..welcome to the Mets...

Its been quite the season. You also forgot though, Schneider's stint on the DL, Putz pretty much having season ending surgery, Wag's being out for almost the entire season, Ollie's stint on the DL (although that was pretty much preferable to him actually pitching), Pagan's time on the DL, and Sheffield's time on the DL. Anyone else that we're forgetting now?

This season has been a very cruel joke.

Cora on the DL a couple of times, Nieve after a few promising starts broke his ass running to first..the list is never ending..

and, yes. it's always fun to beat up on the muts. you guys do the same thing. we all remember you clowns filling up citizens bank park earlier this decade when we were not so good. you guys enjoyed beating us then and we are enjoying it now. only difference is we got a ring! hey oh!

Can someone explain to me why omar is coming back next season. He did nothing to fix this team, he's made bad trades, got nothing in the farm system and calls out a beat writer at a press conference.

I don't really know how these contracts work with firings and such, but it seems to me from everything that I'm reading that money is really tight. And if the Wilpons would have to continue to pay Omar and Jerry if they got fired, and then also pay whoever replaced them, that might be more $ than they are willing to spend.

But who knows, this is purely conjecture.

Yea true. I guess when you put in 800 million bucks to a ponzi(sp?) scheme, money is gonna be tight. Its no wonder they kept the deal with citi.

Yeah, but there is a major difference between not being so good and this. I could see the enjoyment if it were the 'Mets' your team was beating. There was no rivalry at all prior to a few years ago. If the situation were reversed I truly don't think I would enjoy beating a Phillies team that was missing Utley, Howard, Rollins, Victorino, Werth, Ibanez, Hamels...I mean really, who exactly are you guys beating up on out there...Parnell? Sullivan? Santos? Tatis? Murphy? Hernandez? Reed? Sheffield?

Come on, seriously..Thus, I completely disagree with your statement. This season for us is a complete joke..one that baseball has never witnessed before.....and to top it all off, Francouer is now injured and Santana is out for the fucking season..let's get real, a freak triple-play to end the game that hasn't happened since like 1925..come on buddy, you're lost on this one..

Done for the year and Francouer doesn't look too hot either..can someone please tell me how it could possibly get any worse? I know people love to say that, but it just really can't get any worse..

i'll be completely honest with you champ, i could give two shits about the mets this year. i was planning on attending this series earlier in the year when it looked like it was gonna be a big one. but since you guys stink so much i completely forgot about it until a week ago. its just fun to give you guys a hard time.

BUT, i can guarantee you there are tons of mets fans who would fill the bank if the roles were reversed and reveling in the phillies angst as some phils fans are doing to you this year. part of my hatred for the mets is due to the scumbags i witnessed first hand at our park about 5 years ago.

either way, i hope you guys are healthy next year and give us some competition in division...

Besides the Madoff stuff, the Wilpons' company Sterling Equities owns several pieces of real estate throughout the country. I'm sure that's taken a hit as well.

I think this is video of the guy dumping a beer on the Mets fan's head correct? If so, I know some dudes that were sitting around there. They said that Mets dude was barking and starting a fight with another group of Phils people with the guy behind him, so the trashy Phils guy took it upon himself to end the matter.
