I buy my stuff through 10C because I like buying it through 10C.

The fact that it was right before Xmas didn’t really matter to me, I had the money available, now if I had to take money from my kid’s Xmas presents to buy it then I wouldn’t have bought it, they gave the date when the pre-sale would end and there was a note on the site that said there would be plenty of sets to fulfill everyone’s orders, there was no need to buy it the first day if money was tight because of Xmas.

Like I said I would buy it through 10C if I had to do it all over again, and I don’t think it sucks that I didn’t get a signed copy I never expected one, and I don’t consider myself full of shit.

well said....never cared if was signed or not....i guess that means i'm full of shit

i swear people's priorities are way out of whack

I guess that would make me full of shit as well. It also means that all the things that I have collected over the years are meaningless pieces of shit that I have never cared about. Why I bought them, I will never know..Damn I suck...meh...

We as fans are totally in the dark with how many boxsets were signed, but i am sure that ten club
sold a hell of a lot more due to the fact they were offering this lottery.
I got mine of Friday, was held to ransom by UPS and no signed copy.
I wish they had made 2500 signed copies available to the fans, i have spent the last few months in total hope of getting a signed copy.
    Not fair.....

I completely see where you're coming from. I got my box delivered on Monday but I'm not gonna be able to get it until I go home tomorrow. But I doubt mine is gonna be signed. Anyway I'm with you on this one. I guarantee the prospect of getting a signed copy boosted sales. And it is a lottery so there is no guarantee but I would like to have some proof that at least some were signed and we weren't all just duped.

I mean look at it this way. The box sets are not limited. So they will be around for a long time. The 10c draw was the prospect of getting a signed copy that was the only perk. And anyone who says that wasn't done to boost sales is kidding themselves. So they get a whole bunch of people who were probably on the fence about it and pushed them over the edge with this ploy. The issue now is that we ended up paying more money and received nothing extra while BB has it for cheaper and they give you a code for 3 "exclusive" rock band songs. I guarantee you that in a few months you will be able to get the SDE for under $100. So I don't blame the OP for feeling the way he/she does. Anyone that does blame him/her please take off the fan boy/fan girl blinders and think about what 10c did from a business stand point. Notice when the cut off date for a "chance at signatures" were. It was before anyone knew how much other retailers would be selling it for and notice how they charge your card at time of order so you really can't cancel. They hook you with the perk then tie your hands. It's a great business move on their part.

I'm not gonna lie and say that when I do finally open mine and find no signatures I won't be disappointed. I will be and I will regret buying it through the 10c. Call me ungrateful, not a "true fan," or whatever else. If not for the prospect of signatures I would have held out buying the SDE until the inevitable price drop. I'm sure after opening it and listening to the LPs and the CDs and watching the DVD the buyers remorse will fade away. But initially there will definitely be buyers remorse. Although right now my box is sitting at home unopened so I still have a chance so this last paragraph might be completely moot tomorrow when I get home :p

So back to the main point. Cut the OP some slack. The signatures were a business move on 10cs part and not something for the fans he/she has a right to be disappointed. If it were for the fans they would have gotten more signed (flame bait but true nonetheless) end of story. This is going to be my only post in this thread because I honestly have no intention of getting into a flame war with anyone. I just want to say my peace and be done with it.

I think there is one point that everyone seems to be forgetting. The Message Pit consists of probably 1% of Ten Club Members.

I know many fan clubbers that have either never heard of this place, or don't like to sit in front of a PC and post on a message board all night. I know I wouldn't be posting here if I didn't have a job that allowed it.

How many regular posters do we have here? 300 - 400 at the most?

Not at all. I'm glad I didn't get a signed copy. Someone else would appreciate it more. Plus knowing that it was signed I probably would keep it sealed for a rainy day.

as soon as the CHANCE came to get a signed unit, i thought WOW great!! is that really so bad????
we all love the band and ten club, does that mean we cant question anything they do???

Of course I was hoping for a signed copy of the SDE, but it was not ordered with that expectation, so I am just happy to have it, and enjoy it!

Was I bummed my set wasn't signed? Yes....Expecting it signed? No.........Great box set? Yes!

I ordered mine on day 1, before the announcement of signed copies. I think the band should have just signed however many copies they wanted to and not said a word. By announcing signed copies it gives the perception of going for more sales.

I'm playing the heck out of the vinyl remix/it kicks ass!

The most important thing is that it is a BEAUTIFUL box set!!! I couldn't really care less that mine isn't signed, I bought it through 10C because I buy all of my PJ albums through 10C. If it had been signed it would have been a bonus but I guess I wasn't lucky this time.

It was a lottery and we all took our chances, there's no need to keep bitching about it. To anyone that did get a signed one, congratulations I hope you enjoy it!

    priorities way out of wack???

so explain why the busiest thread on this forum is the signed copy thread???
releasing this set signed has been the biggest deal for a collector pj have done since benoraya..
delusional?? ha ha, i was held to ransom by ups for my box, and have recently bought hoodies, boxsets, bootlegs etc etc all from ten club.
the reason i may be delusional is because nobody has any idea how many were signed
i support ten club but have recently paid £60.00 in extra postal fees, on top of the normal price.
if i had known, and not for the signed lottery, i would have bought it from my local store and supported them
i bought it first for the music and second for a collectors piece, end of story

I was under the impression that ALL of the preorders before the end of Jan got some type of autograoh. Kinda sucks, but its just someones name on paper. The music is great. I cant beliee this set. It is awesome.

I agree...I bought the set that very day on the spot...because of the hopes of getting a signed copy. oh well it's still cool...but a signed set would of made my year!
  • they've probably cancelled or delayed the autographs because everyone around here seems to get their nose outta joint over PJ stuff getting sold on eBay..
people need to stop worrying about who sells what and for how much on eBay..

Depends on how you look at it. I am a collector, and buying it with the hopes of getting a signature never came in to play. Did I know there was a possiblity? Sure...Would it have made it any more special to me getting one? Prob not....Seeing it signed in person, or having it made out TO ME, would make it special, otherwise I was going to buy a couple regardless.

Hell, for all you know, SLH or Tim B or someone else at the 10C could have been the ones signing for the band!! Happens all the time.... I dont think they would do something like that, but to put it in perspective, as someone else mentioned, we are a VERY SMALL MINUTE part of the fanclub that come here. So if you bought it for the possibility/hope of a sig, then yes, you are a bit dillusional...;-)

  • I'll be honest I was a little bummed that my copy wasn't signed, but once I found out you could download Drop in the Park as an mp3 and I wouldn't have to record it off my record player I was happier then I ever could have been. Point is you forget about not getting it faster then you think.

there should be a little 3x3 card inside one of the drop in the park vinyl sleeves!
