Am i the only pj fan who feels let down by the lottery that was with the super delux???
We as fans are totally in the dark with how many boxsets were signed, but i am sure that ten club
sold a hell of a lot more due to the fact they were offering this lottery.
I got mine of Friday, was held to ransom by UPS and no signed copy.
I wish they had made 2500 signed copies available to the fans, i have spent the last few months in total hope of getting a signed copy.
Not fair.....
i gotta asay i think you make quite valid points...
this was a publicity stunt and a marketing ploy....especially considering what tenclub replied in emails to me and a great many other people
I agree. I had the best buy order page open in 1 window and ten club in the other. best buy was $15 cheaper but having read the post about the email saying "the band would come in and sign as many as they can" swayed me to spend the extra $15. Quite frankly I don't get the whole "i'd rather support the band than the evil corporations!" crap spewed around here so I specifically spent the extra $15 based on that one "as many as they can" post. It was a brilliant marketing scheme that definitely made them an extra few grand. I have no one to blame but myself.
That all said, my set arrived about 40 minutes ago and autographs or not, it's awesome.
listen, first off, thanks to everyone for at least replying to the post.
i would say in defence i got anything but a "i deserve attitude" i was merely trying to raise a point for
all fans of the band to discuss. if its a crime, then hell yeah i wanted a signed copy, thats the main reason i bought it direct from ten club. i hoped to get one for sure, if i didnt i would be lying, i was just saying and sharing the disappointment of not getting one that was signed, right or wrong.
believe me, my copy would never have ended up on ebay, and yes pj are the most awesome band to there fans and it is a great set, like i say im sure, im not the only disapponted pj fan out there.
i am gonna be the only one to be disappointed??
i just raised the point of a different format for the signed copy, one that was similar to NIN Ghosts, when Trent signed 2500 copies.
and if some of you cant hold a civilised discussion, then its not me who needs to grow up.
also i would have bought the super delux just the damn same, signed or not.
it is a really cool set, great remix, and new music...yeah it would have been great to get a signed copy, and it would have been the proudest part of my collection, along with the bootlegs and vinyl, and everything else
why would they decide to sign any??
BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT IT WOULD MEAN TO THE FANS WHO GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!
It wouldnt suck so bad that mine isn't signed either if I heard SOMEONE got a signed copy!!!!! WTF??? Oh, and FUCK all you holier than thou pricks knocking the OP for voicing his opinion.

To be fair, who in their right mind wants to sign their name 2500 times? I think 50 signed copies might be pushing it.. I know myself, signing a years worth of post dated cheques, my signature gets less & less ledigble with each signing..

got mine today (not signed)...very excited. certainly doesn't suck. very happy with the order, but I did wish the unplugged was the whole show, but oh well. can't wait for VS. to get re-issued, I'll try again.

Just opened mine, and it wasn't signed. Disappointed? I suppose a bit let down, but not all that disappointed. I've learned not to get my hopes up too high. Either way, the box set looks damn good next to me my Benaroya vinyl.

This is NO place to share those thoughts!
thank god not all the people on these pages are assholes
Lets get this straight...the OP is not happy because he didnt get a signed unit......does that mean all those great nuggets of PJ in the SDP you really didnt care about or want....you paid the piper for a signature? seems pretty silly to me......I felt very blessed to get the SDP before the release date..... and just to simply get it through the 10C to show my true support to the club and band......I have encouraged my friends on facebook to go out today and buy even if they are just slightly a fan. Sometimes its nice just to be emersed in something you love without looking for the strings.....the signed thing is merely a bonus...not even close to a deal breaker......personally I would be happy just shake the boys hands or give em a pat on the shoulder,,,,better yet just buy em a beer and say ....."Thanks guys...I truely mean it!" They dont need to sign a thing for me.
Even if something was signed...its not like you were there when they signed this...it would have little real meaning...atleast to me....sure it would be cool...but its just ink on your package really!

To me, shelling out the $140 a couple weeks before Christmas, as opposed to $125 at Best Buy gave me serious hope that these preorders might actually return quite a few autographed copies....Seemed like a greedy time to pop out a presale at the time, and now it is just plain disappointing. I didnt EXPECT to get a signed copy, and I am very psyched to have the SDE, but it does SUCK to not get a signed copy when I put the money out on day 1, anyone who says otherwise is full of shit.
Man, I didn't even know there was a chance of getting a signed copy and I still bought it from tenclub. Don't know how I missed that but that's neat! Mine is just shipping today according to my email from UPS so it'll be a while before I can enjoy all the goodies.

I think that anyone that bought the set hoping for a signed one was delusional.
I buy my stuff through 10C because I like buying it through 10C.
The fact that it was right before Xmas didn’t really matter to me, I had the money available, now if I had to take money from my kid’s Xmas presents to buy it then I wouldn’t have bought it, they gave the date when the pre-sale would end and there was a note on the site that said there would be plenty of sets to fulfill everyone’s orders, there was no need to buy it the first day if money was tight because of Xmas.
Like I said I would buy it through 10C if I had to do it all over again, and I don’t think it sucks that I didn’t get a signed copy I never expected one, and I don’t consider myself full of shit.

I completely see where you're coming from. I got my box delivered on Monday but I'm not gonna be able to get it until I go home tomorrow. But I doubt mine is gonna be signed. Anyway I'm with you on this one. I guarantee the prospect of getting a signed copy boosted sales. And it is a lottery so there is no guarantee but I would like to have some proof that at least some were signed and we weren't all just duped.
I mean look at it this way. The box sets are not limited. So they will be around for a long time. The 10c draw was the prospect of getting a signed copy that was the only perk. And anyone who says that wasn't done to boost sales is kidding themselves. So they get a whole bunch of people who were probably on the fence about it and pushed them over the edge with this ploy. The issue now is that we ended up paying more money and received nothing extra while BB has it for cheaper and they give you a code for 3 "exclusive" rock band songs. I guarantee you that in a few months you will be able to get the SDE for under $100. So I don't blame the OP for feeling the way he/she does. Anyone that does blame him/her please take off the fan boy/fan girl blinders and think about what 10c did from a business stand point. Notice when the cut off date for a "chance at signatures" were. It was before anyone knew how much other retailers would be selling it for and notice how they charge your card at time of order so you really can't cancel. They hook you with the perk then tie your hands. It's a great business move on their part.
I'm not gonna lie and say that when I do finally open mine and find no signatures I won't be disappointed. I will be and I will regret buying it through the 10c. Call me ungrateful, not a "true fan," or whatever else. If not for the prospect of signatures I would have held out buying the SDE until the inevitable price drop. I'm sure after opening it and listening to the LPs and the CDs and watching the DVD the buyers remorse will fade away. But initially there will definitely be buyers remorse. Although right now my box is sitting at home unopened so I still have a chance so this last paragraph might be completely moot tomorrow when I get home
So back to the main point. Cut the OP some slack. The signatures were a business move on 10cs part and not something for the fans he/she has a right to be disappointed. If it were for the fans they would have gotten more signed (flame bait but true nonetheless) end of story. This is going to be my only post in this thread because I honestly have no intention of getting into a flame war with anyone. I just want to say my peace and be done with it.
I think there is one point that everyone seems to be forgetting. The Message Pit consists of probably 1% of Ten Club Members.
I know many fan clubbers that have either never heard of this place, or don't like to sit in front of a PC and post on a message board all night. I know I wouldn't be posting here if I didn't have a job that allowed it.
How many regular posters do we have here? 300 - 400 at the most?
Not at all. I'm glad I didn't get a signed copy. Someone else would appreciate it more. Plus knowing that it was signed I probably would keep it sealed for a rainy day.
Am i the only pj fan who feels let down by the lottery that was with the super delux???

Of course I was hoping for a signed copy of the SDE, but it was not ordered with that expectation, so I am just happy to have it, and enjoy it!

The most important thing is that it is a BEAUTIFUL box set!!! I couldn't really care less that mine isn't signed, I bought it through 10C because I buy all of my PJ albums through 10C. If it had been signed it would have been a bonus but I guess I wasn't lucky this time.
It was a lottery and we all took our chances, there's no need to keep bitching about it. To anyone that did get a signed one, congratulations I hope you enjoy it!
