Yeah I am in total agreement with this statement!! I LOVEPearl Jam and LOVE the Tenclub, but most of the reason I bought 1 thru them was to get 1 signed. And once they said the band would be spending all day signing them I was all about buying 1 from Ten Club...now they only signed a few, WTF??????????????

And yes it's the WHOLE bands sig. Oh man. I WANT ONE SIGNED BAD :(

I'll tell you what, if you get one signed, I'll trade you that for a mint Binaural vinyl, straight up. Deal?

my guess is the band members got through signing 30-40 deluxe boxsets, as Stone mentioned, then took a break for lunch only to piss away the rest of the afternoon rolling dice in the alleyway behind the PJ/10C warehouse,...

To be honest, I sort of wish they hadn't announced any signing of anything, and just left it to be discovered when people opened up their sets. The way some people seem to be treating this up until this latest bit of information is that they expected theirs to be signed almost.

I sent an email to 10c and said how I was bummed that I ordered 1 thru them to possible get a signed copy and here was their response......

    "Hi Sylvia,

As stated on the website, there were absolutely no guarantees that purchasing one would get you an autographed copy and there were no guarantees on how many would be signed. We are not certain how many the band has signed, hopefully as many as possible before hand cramps set in.

    Best,

I, any many others here, saw his post where he (or someone from 10 club) specifically said they would come in and sign as many as they can. Can others back me up on this or am I delusional?

yup, but i guess 30-40 was all the strength that they were able to muster up in their old, weak, feeble hands. they should have used their mouths like dave a. used to while he iced his hands.

I'd say in an hour or so, they could sign 20 or so boxes.

    40 in 7 minutes?!

    No way.

If they really did sign 40, I'd wager that's at least a few hours work.

Anyone who's complaining about the amount being signed only has themselves to blame, nobody ever gave you an expectation that they'd all be getting signed - that's ludicrous. If you're disappointed when you open your box to find no signatures, then I'm not sure you bought this for the right reasons.

i agree...but they absolutely used it to lure people into buying the super deluxe edition from the 10c before the less expensive options became known. they even had amazon remove the listing when it was initially posted there.

If they only signed 30-40, I'm hoping they were personalized for each recipient. It would cut down on ebay flipping too.

So it takes 60 minutes to sign your name 20 times? It takes you 3 minutes to sign your name once?

And for the record, I never expected to get a signed one. But when an employee comes on here publically and says they are going to come in and sign as many as they can in a day, it definitely sways people to purchase here rather than cheaper somewhere else. It takes about 2 seconds to sign your name (unless you are spencer and it takes 3 minutes ;) ) It feels like false advertising. It wouldn't feel that way if that wasn't said. I did find it funny that people thought every single one would be signed. Come on now.
  • All this bickering about the signed sets and the things have not even gotten into the UPS truck yet!

I can’t wait til next week when everyone starts whining about how they didn’t get their signed copy, because in their delusional mind they thought the band was going to sign every single last copy ….
  • Oh well. I honestly just hope that the few people who are lucky enough to get a signed box aren't pricks that end up flipping them on ebay. But who knows with these hard times. Anyway good luck everyone! I have my fingers crossed :p

Don't agree with you at all.

It was always known you would be able to buy the Super Deluxe Edition (and the other editions) from other retailers once it was officially released, it was never a 10c exclusive.

The release date of the reissue is March 24th; anyone with a brain could've figured out that the other versions would be available to buy after that date as they're not limited.

This was just a special pre-order, likely to gauge how many of the Super Deluxe they would need have produced. There was never any promise of getting a signed copy, only that a small amount of random copies would be signed. Just because the forum worked themselves up into a frenzy believing ALL would be signed (a completely baseless theory), it doesn't change the fact that only a very small number will end up getting autographed - just as originally promised.

I definitely WON'T be sitting here crossing my fingers hoping for a signed copy. I already knew the chances were incredibly small that I'd ever get one and had decided to buy it just for the package (and if it IS signed, well that's just a bonus).
