Gov't Mule covered Black, Nothingman and Indifference this past new years at The Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. Heard a recording from the show a couple times and these songs seemed pretty solid.

Where can we listen to these covers?

They've also done a cover of Hunger Stike too.
when you get confused just listen to the music play........

If Aaron Lewis loves PJ and Black so much he at least needs to get the lyrics right before he can even get consideration. It's not "her legs spread out before me". Please.

A good friend of mine insists that Eddie says "her legs spread out before me". We get into an argument everytime we hear Black.:lol::lol:

I'm sorry but that's what I hear too. Then again, we love those misheard lyrics to Black :D
That's what I heard for years too... sometimes I still hear it... and when I sing black that's what comes out

Anyway, I fucking like Seether... they're a decent band... and I don't care what anyone says. I loved that song Broken with Amy Lee  and if anyone wants to slag me for this... bring it on :D

"Ultimate"? Didn't someone already lay claim to that distinction? Or am I thinking of Creed?

I haven't heard many or any that I'm impressed with.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

This is my absolute "favoritest" charitable organization:

While many of us do a respectable job of covering the music of the world's greatest band, only one charity accurately reflects the philanthropic mission of the original artists. (Check that: I mean "respectable" by non-tribute-hater standards.)

Looking forward to reconnecting with Laura, Jeannette, Demetrios and other Wishlist friends on PJ's next U.S. tour. - Tony
  • It's certainly NOT the best PJ cover but if anyone is interested...
I was playing on my home recording program recently and recorded my own acoustic version of Garden.

I think it is very hard to appreciate a cover of Pearl Jam. It is the emotion and power of Eddie's voice that helps make the songs what they are. Nobody can come close to his deliverance. I believe covers are best suited for bands that are more instrumental, where you can appreciate pianos or string quartets replacing the traditional instruments. Than again, those are actually tributes. So I guess what Im trying to say is...I don't care for covers.

Personally, The gentleman ( I forget his name) doing the cover of "Elderly Woman" prior to Ed's solo shows was easily the most graceful cover of Pearl Jam I've ever heard; dare I say...better than the original.

    Also for consideration:

    1)The Frogs cover of "Rearviewmirror"
    2)Ben Harper's cover of "Indifference"
