Gov't Mule covered Black, Nothingman and Indifference this past new years at The Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. Heard a recording from the show a couple times and these songs seemed pretty solid.

Where can we listen to these covers?
I was just about to ask the same thing.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

Yea, Anthrax supposedly recorded a version of "Brain of J." I don't know if it's been released yet but it should be awesome.

  • Nobody covers Pearl Jam better than PEARL JAM! I hate when other people sing their songs although the Seether cover of Immortality is not bad.

I hate Aaron Lewis' cover of Black...just terrible! He totally ruins the song for me. I also heard his cover of an Alice In Chains song...I believe it was "Don't Follow"...AGAIN it was terrible!! He should stick to singing Staind songs!

Usually, it is extremely annoying to me when other bands cover Pearl Jam. I know it doesn't seem fair since one of our favorite topic here is "what should be the next song covered by Pearl Jam?" :) I don't know...but it's just sacrilegous to me.
However, LukinFan has a point here, out of all those posers out there, Seether actually does a decent enough job with that Immortality cover.
Anybody else, and this includes that poser, Aaron Lewis, should just come to their senses and realize that they suck at it.

I know everyone here hates on Aaron Lewis but personally I love all his PJ covers; Black, Elderly Woman, and Release. :D The guy obviously idolizes Eddie kinda like how Eddie idolizes Bob Dylan or The Who.

Oh wow, Ben is SO much of a part of the whole "Pearl Jam experience" that I didn't even think of his cover of Indifference as "someone else" covering it. Yeah, he can do that song all he wants because he is SO AWESOME doing it :D

Couldn't agree more... Its all shit. Everyone who covers PJ sounds like they try too hard. Little like Stapp.

I think it's so obvious how no body touches Pearl Jam

You have to be able to do something really special in order to cover any of their stuff.

I completely forgot about that! Such a great b-side on the Immortality single!
