GASLIGHT ANTHEM!!!!!!!- "State Of Love And Trust"

I'm pretty sure I'd vote for this, if I could HEAR it somewhere! I like Gaslight Anthem and I think they'd do a good job of it.

Yeah, really. Nobody has this recorded somewhere?

I heard Gaslight Anthem's SOLAT over a cell phone call, so that's all i got. Going to see them in a few weeks so I will be sure to make what is destined to be a really bad recording.

  • This local band in Chapel Hill called Sturges & McGeehan does a sick Small Town->Rise as a mandolin/banjo duo. No recordings of that online, but you can hear some of their stuff here:

everyone thinks ed says her legs spread out before me. sometimes i've heard him clearly say it. even ed fucks up his own lyrics but then again its the wine

    I've only heard Seether's and Aaron Lewis's covers. I didn't like either.

  • If there is going to be a tribute album put together, can we make a list of bands we would like to be on it. Because so far, a lot of the artists, are not people I would really want to be on that album, and I think a lot of people would feel the same way (about any of those bands from the late ninties early 00's that ripped off PJ's sound) and some of those songs, (Aaron Lewis, Seether) have already seen a widespread release. There are plenty of bands out there who were influenced by Pearl Jam, or friends with them, or whatever, who I would much rather hear. Some of the openers, such as Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket, Ben Harper and Death Cab For Cutie would be something I would be way more interested in than Breaking Benjamin or 3 Doors Down or bands like that.

I know everyone here hates on Aaron Lewis but personally I love all his PJ covers; Black, Elderly Woman, and Release. :D The guy obviously idolizes Eddie kinda like how Eddie idolizes Bob Dylan or The Who.

Aaron Lewis also does an acoustic version of Even Flow. He has good voice and he can't be too bad or he wouldn't be making so much money on his solo tours singing mostly covers. He also did an improv of Yellow Ledbetter saying "who the hell knows what Eddie is saying" so in response to not knowing the lyrics to black, I think Aaron Lewis knows as much about PJ as the most rabid fan.

Yeah, I know. He'll do that when he is goofing around or whatever, but the lyric is clearly:

The 'legs" thing doesn't even make sense when you read it.

That version of GTF is sick... I love it!!! I don't think Aaron Lewis does a bad job, just not good. It would be interesting to hear a studio cover from him. Seether's "Immortality" is solid. Otherwise I'd love to have Gov't Mule, KOL, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Anthrax, and Gaslight Anthem. If they are going to do a cover album, it's gotta be full of variety.
