actually, those are my plans again this weekend. i decided to hit up rent again... in newark. my obsessive personality is not limited to pearl jam. :D

p.s. i wonder what the odds of finding a nice, single man at the theater on valentine's day are?

We are going to a jazz concert on the 12th. Then a friend of mine is visiting for the weekend and it looks like the only day when she and I will be able to enjoy each other's company kids free is Valentine's day! Any suggestion on a nice place to take her in Manhattan that won't have lovers' menu and where we can chat for hours?

    Central Park? LOL

You know what? If it's warm enough that might just be a great idea :D
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

hit the sunday matinee.... was actually surprised at the younger kids in the audience as well as the total lack of respect for the no camera/cell phones policy at the end of the show.

ah, we went friday night. it was a pretty good audience, other than the people around me singing along. for pearl jam i'd have it no other way...not so much for rent. :)
  • well we're broke at the mo :D so gonna be going out Friday night instead to avoid high prices (and yes... cos I forgot to book  even though I insisted I'd do it :? and now it's too late to find anywhere that isn't mcdonalds) so yep, out Friday night... Saturday RUGBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :mrgreen: and I'm sure more than a fair share of wine (I genuinely can't think of a better way to celebrate v day than watching rugby  I met my ex AT a match and I loved telling people that story cos, to me, it was the most romantic thing I'd ever heard  and we even got to tell a couple of the players about it)

Oh dear, yep, I know I'm obsessed, lol.

  • I have a new bf, so my first intention was to not say anything and just see what he does... but then I thought that was either mean or setting myself up for disappointment. SO, I asked him and *shocker* he went on a TINY rant about the commercialized BS... we've agreed on cards and making dinner together with some vino. Sounds perfect to me!

    or women!

Sometimes it just sounds like an excuse cos they're too bloody lazy. So what if it's overcommercialised... every holiday is.

  • damn, i was just riding the elevator in my office, and it was packed given the hour....and two men were apparently discussing Vday. the one man was saying to the other 'dozen long-stemmed roses to be delivered to her office....check. dinner reservations....check..."....and etc. at first i was thinking, sweet! how thoughtful, perhaps not what i would want...but at least he's taking the time and planning it to make it special and all. then he continues on to say "well of course the roses need to be delivered to the office b/c without other people around to see them, it does not have the desired effect. getting them delivered at home on saturday would be a total waste b/c then she'd have no one to show off to." all i could think was wow.....if that's what he thinks of his wife, how sad! or, if his wife really IS like that....how sad. hahahaha. i joked with a colleague who rode the elevator with me "if my husband ever talked about me like that"...and we both laughed. *sigh* eh well......hopefully they're both happy! :)

I'm a girl, and I love flowers no matter what. But this is true for most women! It's bogus, but I know lots of chicks who want stuff delivered at work. Maybe it's more about letting coworkers know that their man didn't forget. It's lame.

i love flowers too....most especially for no reason, and especially flowers that my man knows i love. and sure, it's nice at work simply for the 'surprise' factor more than anything else, and really...that can be done anywhere. so yea.....i do think the idea of needing to show off is lame....and/or her man thinking that of her, rightly or wrongly...AND discussing it loudly/publicly in a packed elevator.....:P sheesh. who really knows tho eh? just struk me as odd, a bit said...and got me thinkin'....never a good thing. ;)
