My hometown of Whitman, MA gave birth to Steve Smith, the drummer for Journey and Jon Bauman, better known as Bowser from Sha Na Na. With these rock and roll legends, I really don't see how Whitman can be topped.

Whitman is also the brithplace of Toll House Cookies, and actually where chocolate chip cookies themselves were invented. Just more proof that Whitman rocks all.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Well, for most of my life my hometown of Scranton only had a few 'notables' like Jason Miller (the exorcist priest). Mike Munchak and Gerry McNamara.

It's become a little more (in)famous lately thanks to Joe Biden and the Office.

  • where i currently reside it has the 'distinction' of being designated a 'Tree City USA'.....:D i honestly do not know how many cities/towns/villages have this distinction, i just know our little village does. you must have a cetain # of trees in your city/town/village in relation to square miles i believe. that's about all i know. i don't know of any celebrities from here, tho there are PLENTY from long island in general, just not our little spot.

Grew up in the burbs of Atlanta in Marietta, GA where the most identifiable landmark was the Big Chicken: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Chicken :?

Escaped to the Pacific Northwest almost 8 years ago where I have been residing in North Bend, WA east of Seattle in the Cascade foothills. When we first got here, we were like, "Why does so much of this area look so familiar?" Didn't take long to figure out that many of the exterior shots for David Lynch's TV cult classic, Twin Peaks, were filmed here and in neighboring Snoqualmie. 8-)

Perrysburg, Ohio is the only city in the United States other than Washington DC that was created by an act of Congress.

We're also the hometown of Jim Leyland, the baseball coach. I went to grade school with his nephew and his brother was our parish's priest.

    I think that's about it.

this guy coached our rugby team to their biggest achievment in 30 years. He lived real near me when I was a kid, he was a top rugby player and anywhere he went he'd have a trail of kids following him in awe
