  • Queensryche (don't even care if I spelled it wrong). - they opened for Judas Priest and they made me want to leave before the fun even started.(which wasn't until after they ended!)

Steely Dan - got free tickets, he played THREE songs off of his greatest hits in a 2 hour set. I wanted to put a bullet in my head.

Brian Jonestown Massacre at The Bowery Ballroom several years ago. Anton Newcombe had a hissy fit/nuclear meltdown after a fan told him to chill out. He stalked off like a punk.

I have seen Rod Stewart so many times I lost count.
My sister loved him when we were growing up, so I went to see Rod with her and she went to see Rush with me.

    A few opening acts
    Ratt(opened for Billy Squier)
    Cinderella(opened for Judas Priest)

I'm sure there is more but it is late and my brain is fuzzy.

Oh when I was a kid my mom drug me to lots of shows, Captain & Tenielle(sp),Chicago, and yes I have seen Barry Manilow too :) I also saw a Tiger Beat(you know that teeny bopper magazine) show at Six Flags that included Scott Baio,Todd Bridges, the Hulk Guy Lou something or other,Willie Ames. Oh crap I saw the Bay City Rollers too

There's some love going on for the Goo Goo Dolls so I'll only briefly admit to having seen them x 3. Each time it was by accident. They were opening for someone else I was going to see and I didn't know they were playing.

I know after reading the rest of this thread that I won't win by a long shot but... Static X.

    Worst.
    Live.
    Show.
    Ever.

They opened for Megadeth during the tour for "Risk."

I was center and halfway back. It was about the third song into Static X's set when I noticed something. The conversation between my friend and I went like this:

Me: *yells loudly over unintelligible noise* "HEY!"
    Friend: *yells back* "YEAH?"
Me: "YOU NOTICE ANYTHING ABOUT THE DRUMMER?"
    Friend: "NO! WHY?"
Me: "WATCH HIM FOR A MINUTE!"
    Friend: *watches drummer*

I slowly saw the realization dawn on his face that he noticed the same thing I did. Whenever the during the "music" (or "song" or whatever you want to say was "playing") you heard a cymbal crash you couldn't help but notice that while the "drummer" was making the motions, none of the cymbals moved.

Then the rest of their "sound" made more sense. Like the canned moves the lead singer was making towards and away from the microphone before and after the "singing" would come over the pa.
\so my friend called me 30 times on saturday for orlando's big "earthday birthday" all day concert thing they've done for years..
i've never been to it and i really didn't want to go but it was a free ticket and i'd never seen chevelle so i said id meet him for the last 2 shows chevelle and 311
anyways i get there and the my friend hands me the ticket through the fence and it doesnt work..he through out the wrong one and gave me his..what an idiot
some scalper was like here 20 bucks ill sell you a ticket..
i looked over near the stage and said, "so thats static x?..im out. enjoy the show" walked home
    what an abortion
the fact that my money may have ended up near their pockets made me refuse to pay

All of these at Leeds Festival in 2000

Daphne & Celeste (though the bottles did rain spectacularly!)
    Blink 182
    Limp Bizkit
Oasis - they were embarrassingly bad for a so-called big act.

Meat Loaf in 1996 might possibly count though!

Smart Tech Customer: [points to a TV playing a Michael McDonald DVD] If I get the set, will you throw in the DVD?
David: Tell you what. You *don't* get the set and I'll throw in the DVD.

They had to drop the "Jefferson" before the "We Built This City" era....prior to that they were a really good band.

I took my cousin to see Maroon 5 as her first concert.
I was miserable the whole time, but she was happy... so it was worth it.
