This is just g'bye for now...
It was pretty lame when I saw the Goo Goo Dolls when I was like 12 ( I was young so I liked it). I know they really suck hard now. I also had to sit through crappy ass Animal Collective this summer at APW, while waiting for Kings of Leon and Radiohead to blow the lid off the place!
Out of the Blue and Into the Black................Uncle Neil Philly 08 here I come!!!!
The Bravery. they opened up for Incubus and sucked hard.
I saw them open up for Smashing Pumpkins. I was on a beer run and I hear them in the background and I was like..."Hmm, they're playing some Cure while we wait." It was The Bravery. Their singer is a blatant Cure ripoff. They did suck hard. Although I will say that one of their songs that's something like..."Every word from your mouth is a knife in my ear." was pretty funny. I couldn't agree more. "Every note from that band is a knife in my ear."
one foot in the door
the other foot in the gutter
sweet smell that they adore
I think I'd rather smother
-The Replacements-
We might need to change this to "Most embarrassing acts you have PAID to see in concert"...
For me it would have to be the combined face melting power of Hoobastank, POD, and Linkin Park.
OH yeah Linkin park before PJ in Poland was not cool.
Don't they have that one song where one guy screams while the other guy raps?

There'll also be "special appearances" from Don Henley and Jennifer Lopez

New Kids on the Block w Sweet Senation and Dino

Creed
Third Eye Blind :x
New Kids of the Block
Tiffany :?
Debbie Gibson
I saw all of these also, NKOTB recently and 20 years ago. I like going to shows that other people think are embarrassing, it's kind of fun to see the look on their face. Last year's shows I saw that others may not like :
Richard Marx
Flock of Seaguls
Nelson
Lifehouse
Hookers and Blow (Dizzy Reed from GNR)
Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.... (Voltaire)

Taco-taco.

Sammy Hagar ... opened for Boston in 1977. Horrible.

Saw the man open for ZZ Top in 1983....outstanding....1977 must have been a bad night for him.

DAMN! You win.
I always wanted to take a marker and correct the spelling on Blessid Union of Souls albums. Seriously - Blessid?! Why is that necessary? It certainly didn't make them a special/unique group.
Due to free tickets, I recently saw the Brooks and Dunn and ZZ top show. Me and a friend (who also doesnt listen to these bands) go in not knowing what kind of tickets we have. It turns out we were dead center right at the end of where the stage juts out, you know like the part of the stage that is like a big penis. We literally had the best seats in the house and there were all these crazy fans around us, so we had to get excited. Absolutely hilarious. Brooks and Dunn played a few songs at the end of this catwalk and they were about 2 feet from us. I had to act like I was singing along to not look out of place; however i didnt know any of the words.
Then ZZ top came out. They actually rocked believe it or not. Sounded damn good.
Oh, I went to a New Kids on the Block show when I was about 5. My sister was a fan.
My wife is a huge Bon Jovi fan and dragged me to a show a couple of years ago. Actually, Bon Jovi was good, but Nickelback opened for them and they SUCKED. Probably the worst part was that Chad dude's attitude about the whole thing. He kept bitching about not having all the pyro that a normal Nickelback show would have and then kept dropping names of famous people he hung out with. Total loser.
I've seen The Goo Goo Dolls three times. Robbie is a really nice guy, and I still listen to them so I could never throw them under the same bus as Creed or a few other bands listed in this thread.
I don't think I've ever been to a show I'm embarrassed about. The closest might be Damn Yankees but I was so happy to get to see Tommy Shaw sing Renegade that I still remember even that show fondly. I've never attended any pop shows, so that probably helps.
I saw Modest Mouse opening for REM once and they were pretty lame. I was kinda indifferent to Modest Mouse before the concert but now I can't really even bring myself to listen to any of their stuff.
I thought this thread was gonna be about embarrassing things the AUDIENCE DId for some reason. I guess i was wrong............the only one I can think of that I have seen is Kenny Rogers at a fair. Oh and saw Jethro Tull at a fair too and they sucked.
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
My husband and I took our niece to see Brittany Spears several years ago. We were on the lawn in a big outdoor venue. I thought I was going to be deaf after listening to an hour or so of thousands of very high pitched screaming tweens.
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi
I don't really think i've been to any embarassing shows, or shows that I'm personally embarassed of attending.
I saw Blink-182 when I went to see Green Day in 2002, but I can't really say I'm embarassed over it. I didn't really go in expecting to have my mind be blown away. Just a fun night out with a bunch of friends and that was what the end result of the show was.
Took the kids to see Aaron Carter quite a few years ago - I could have done without it.
No offense, but why take them to see bad music?
When I was little I loved 'gangsta' rap(Onyx, Positive K, Dr. Dre, and Paperboy were my favorites ), my dad refused to let me go see them (for good reasons obviously) but instead he took me to see Aerosmith for my first concert. After seeing them I never picked up another rap album.
If you take your kids to see good music, chances are they will enjoy themselves and the wool we be pulled away from their eyes and they will see what they're missing out on.

Umm who won? That better be me, godammn it! I went to BARRY MANILOW!
I wanna thank my parents, God, Jesus, Dave Thomas at Wendy's, the whole cast from Goonies, and of course the fans for making this possible.
