There are some other real bad ones in there too..buuuuut this was years ago. At a festival. That I got free passes to. Hopefully those are some mitigating factors.

    The Darkness- pathetic!
  • Carrie Underwood.....I took one for the team....well, for my best friend anyway

Percy Sledge....not embarassed to have seen him (Memphis in May several years ago) but I was embarassed for him because dude can no longer sing worth a shit. George Thorogood, who I was waiting to see, came on after him and pretty much mocked him, which wasn't really cool but it was warranted in my book. Hey, they were payin' so he was playin'...can't fault him for that

That's not that bad. I used to love Boys II Men (many years ago for a short time) and The Wallflowers aren't a bad band. I think Jakob Dylan is a pretty good songwriter. Now me on the other hand, I have seen Nickleback

Oh hell yeah....I also had free tickets and they were absolutely awful. The only entertaining thing about it was the bass player's goofy dancing around

We might need to change this to "Most embarrassing acts you have PAID to see in concert"...
For me it would have to be the combined face melting power of Hoobastank, POD, and Linkin Park.

For them, hands down, Johnny Winter. Years ago, the dude was a guitar slinger. Today, he's barely alive.

And, hey, I like Collective Soul. Seen 'em 3X and thoroughly enjoyed myself. :D

    Beck sucked!

    Really?
I always liked his stuff, but wondered how he would be live.
I kind of felt he fell into that category where you could see him being amazing, or you could see him sucking up the joint.
    I guess he's the latter.

The futureheads opened for PJ in Copenhagen (2007). They really sucked and everybody was happy when they said they were playing the last song.

i LOVE becks music, but have never gone to see live, mainly because each album is in its own genre and mixing them all into one live set doesnt seem possible....ive always stayed away from his shows....i think he is a studio genius, one of the best of our time.

p.s - i will keep an eye out for the theory of a deadman bass player strut

The Bravery. they opened up for Incubus and sucked hard.

ugh ... their lead singer is a preening little puss. I had tickets to see Ash, here in San Francisco, with the Bravery opening. Then, that tune "Honest Mistake" broke ... and they flipped the bill. Which really pissed me off as it cut Ash's set by about 15-20 minutes. But, it did allow us to walk out on the Bravery. So bad.

When I saw PJ in Munich, I had no idea who the opener was ... on the way there, someone told me it was the Futureheads, I was ecstatic ... I love those guys ...

Recently I went and saw The Duke Spirit, who rocked my face off .... they were opning for Mercury Rev ... who, I saw 10-12 years ago in Boston (as an opener) and they sucked ... well, we figured we'd stick around to check them out. Didn't make it through 4 songs ... they were embarassing.

This is like therapy: I actually saw Smashmouth and Third Eye Blind; please shoot me 8-)

I also had to stomach Limp Bizkit when they opened up for Faith No More in 97 and I remember thinking how terrible it was and then a year later, biggest band in the world. What a crappy time that was to be alive.

Cinderella with Extreme and David Lee Roth
    Ratt - actually not bad
Warrant - opened for Motley Crue

I know there is more since I was 16 in the 80's. Oh yeah! Whitesnake!
