He's played with really bad offensive lines for most of his career. Even had bad defenses and special teams that cost them games. He was able to win a Super Bowl with a 31st ranked defense. But that's hardly the case. I mean he lost 3 games to 60+ yard field goals. Lost a game to a punt return td. . That's after getting back the lead. Those are just a few examples.  Unfortunately the qb gets the wins/losses. If he was with the Steelers. He would have a better record.

But if this is the end. He will be in the top 10 in TDs and Yards. 2 Super Bowls. If Plaxico didn't shoot himself a very good chance for 3.
See, this is the conundrum of Eli Manning. I don't think you have to make excuses and arguments like this for any other two time Super Bowl MVP...

But not everyone has the same players and coaches for the most part. If everything was equal that's a different story. And the excuse of the win/loss record does apply. Roethlisberger can throw 3 interceptions and the Steelers can still win the game. Eli can throw for 6 touchdowns and it's 50/50 if the Giants win

Nothing is ever and has ever been equal. I think he probably should be a hall of famer. But his average-ish career, combined with 2 SB MVP's makes him such a unique hof candidate that I think a lot of people will be arguing about leading up to his eligibility.

And the counting stats are kind of irrelevant in the NFL because the league is completely different than it was even twenty years ago. Most players in top ten for those kinds of stats have all played within the last decade or two anyway. So he's 7th all time on the career touch down list, but 6th in his era soon to be 9th because Roethlesberger, Rogers and then Ryan will surpass him real soon. 9th among his contemporaries isn't that great when put into perspective.

Shepard cost Eli twice there. Although that offensive pass interference was questionable.

Defense shows up. Eli making key throws. Barkley getting to 100 yards rushing. Eli puts the Giants back in the win column

I would say we were playing Miami. But the way this defense was playing all year. i don't think that's an excuse

I know Eli doesn't want to stop playing. And I know he doesn't want to leave the Giants.

So do we go back to Jones next week and lose out for Chase Young or try to get Eli back over .500?

I think his best chance might be with the Dolphins. They have Josh Rosen. But he got traded from Arizona and then lost his job to Fitzpatrick when they were pretty much out of it.

    Cute win but lose, lose.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

Certainly not best chance for the Dolphins to contend.
BFlo won't be interested in Eli.
