sometimes i think if the phillies took 7 games to win the world series people in this town would complain that it took too long.

yeah, we all expected them to be in a do or die game against the fucking shitbox cardinals in round 1. what is everyone freaking out about?

if they win tomorrow who the fuck will care that it went 5?

When did you guys acquire Verlander? :D

Yeah, he gives up 4 runs and everyone thinks he pitched a fucking no hitter.

not with Halladay on the mound and a mediocre st louis team in town....i like this line better than the Yankee's at the -170 last night.

Look, I agree it's a major choking job if we lose, but this is not a mediocre Cardinals team. They were a sleeping giant all year. I warned everyone this series would be a dogfight while the Braves were choking away their lead with the Phillies' multi-dimensional help (beating Braves 6 times in Sept, 1-3 vs. Cardinals).

-200 is outrageous. I saw -180 this morning.

i honestly think tonight is a parade game. win tonight and i think we are cruising through the next two rounds. i really do. if halladay gets through the 1st two without giving anything up we could be looking at 0-0 into the 7th. and i think a home run by one of the scrubs is deciding it. molina for the cards is way overdue. for phils i'd say chooch or raul. fun but tense. bring the noise tonight.

Hitting up Devils Den before the game. Plenty of time for shenanigans before an 8:30 game.

    Nerves are feeling frayed...

Most memorable (good & bad) decisive games in Phila history that I can think of (mostly Flyers):

-2010 Flyers 2nd round win at Bruins, down 3-0 in series & game.
-1980 NLCS at Houston, Phillies rally down 5-2 in 8th vs. Nolan Ryan, win in extras after Tug blows a 2-run lead
-2001 76ers 2nd & 3rd rounds - wild home wins over Toronto Raptors (seriously) & Milwaukee Bucks (Gm 5 was the best game in this series). Remember Vince Carter going to the graduation? (I was a bandwagoner that year; sue me.)
    -1981 & 1982 76ers at Celtics - 81 Sixers lost to blow a 3-1 lead; 82 Sixers won to avoid blowing a 3-1 lead.
-2000 Flyers EC Final vs. Devils - Lindros knocked out, Arnott scores to win it w/ 2 minutes left
-1987 Flyers SC Final loss at Oilers
-2003 Flyers 6, Maple Leafs 0 (or 1, whatever - va fancul Ty Domi)
-1974 & 1975 Flyers - Gm 7 wins at home over Rangers & Islanders to get into Finals

yea that one hurt. that was a Cup to be had that year. as it gets closer to the game i'm feeling a bit better about it. i don't know maybe just wishful thinking. just want it to start already though. 8:37 start time sucks.
