I know that was a kid, but grownups don't have any sense of what's going on in the game either. Idiots picking up fair balls or snatching pop-ups from their own teams' fielders all the time. Drives me crazy.

fontenot has commited about 8 errors in 2 weeks (despite what official scorers say) so it's a stretch to say he would caught it anyway.

yeah, I'm not saying the kid did anything wrong. Just that the phils can't catch a break.

You know it's going bad when your fans are negatively affecting your play when you're on the road

To play devil's advocate, the booing might have been coming from Marlins or Rays fans just stopping by a minor league game to boo a big league guy they don't like. I've trolled some Yankees who were on rehab assignments in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. "Clemens, you're on ROIDS! You're not fooling anyone!"

2nd most decorated hitter? Maybe that's exaggeration - what do you mean by that? Whatever.

sure, but after "my guy" brian wilson went down, the giants went to santiago casilla....16 for 17 chances...$2M salary.....better ERA than papeldouche.

one thing about Papelbon that has been impressive is in save situations he has not really even been threatened. coming from Lidge who was in trouble it seemed like every time, and Madson who was in trouble at least every 3rd time, papelbon has been completely shut down in save situations.

only 4 years left on that deal!!

that money sure would have been nice to give to a deserving player, like hamels...or used to bring in a decent role player/bench guy.
