Drinking a Southern Tier Pumking tonight. I think RW was talking about this one. I'm back int pumpkin beers thus year thanks to Weyerbacher and S. tier. :D
How you liking that Pumpking? Probably better than the game at this point, but I'm relatively sure that the Phils are about 80% to win this.

Not with idiots getting picked off.

    It was delicious.

As in WWF/WWE announcer going crazy for some bad guy. Usually in baseball that means a shitty reliever comes in and gives up a bomb, and I was fairly sure that's what Howard was about to do.

    Horrendous.

As good as fuckface is at lobbying umpires, he was out of his mind sending Pujols there.

Haven't seen whole game, but am tending to agree...not quite Eric Gregg level but in the Joe West range.

8 runs in 14+ innings for 2 stud pitchers is not good enough.

1 hit against an awful bullpen in 6 innings is not good enough.

gold glover dropping a fly ball that hit is glove is not good enough not matter how tough of a play.

we need hamels desperately because if we get down 2-1 i don't have a ton of confidence in oswalt in game 4 and im 99.9% sure charlie is still starting him in that spot.

    fuck.

It's sadly obvious that you know nothing about sports.

Fuck the Eagles - this is the Phillies thread. I don't give a shit about a team that feels LB's are unnecessary and an O-line coach can be def coordinator.

  • Alright folks, let's take an inventory here. Hamels & Oswalt next 2 games. Hamels wasn't great in Sept but is usually a top notch playoff performer, and he's just good. Oswalt has been lighting it up his past 3 or 4 starts. If all we do is split (we have a great shot at taking both games) it's Halladay in Game 5, vs. oh yeah, a tired Chris Carpenter.

Other good thing - bullpen looked really good. Lidge did a great job getting out the 7th keeping it a one-run game. The Bastard had great stuff.

Sometimes our lineup looks really old - like in the 9th inning yesterday. Polly is having a terrible series at the plate, although he made the only good defensive play yesterday. Slightly better defense and I think we STILL win that game. And Cholly needs to take the pitcher out already when he's getting roped. Even if it's Cliff Lee.

My wife heard that Halladay was the first pitcher to get 21 straight guys out in the playoffs since, um, Don Larsen in 1956??? :o

Johnny heard the same stat about halladay and retiring 21 straight. also heard cliff lee was 94-1 before last night when given a 4 or more run lead...kind of wacky series so far.

and LaRussa is such a dick - man i hate him.

Fucken luckiest best-of-7 victory I've ever seen in baseball. Wall-scraper home runs, ridiculous line drive double plays, borderline called 3rd strikes. That team is going to get absolutely slaughtered in the World Series. It will not even be fun to watch. GODDAMMIT!!!!
