Much better than I was expecting. Went along with the new woman just because and ended up enjoying it.

Arrival - Denis Villeneuve has quickly become a favorite director of mine.
    It's a hopeless situation...

No one is better right now. And after hitting a home run with Blade Runner 2049 despite huge odds, he’s now going after even higher odds with a remake of Dune, a task that even the great David Lynch wasn’t up to.
  • ^^^ speaking of Denis Villeneuve, just watched Sicario.  Again.  Amazing!

Sicario was way better then I expected. It's been a long time since a movie surprised me by being a lot better than my expectation.

Also, I loved Romancing the Stone growing up! Michael Douglas was great.

It was just ok. Another corporate office backdrop for a horror/thriller.

    mother!

At the end of the day I think I liked it (FWIW, I watched it high - probably makes a difference, lol). It is a fucking weird movie though, and it slowly escalates towards being fairly horrific and stressful. I found the statement it makes about the process and impact of creativity quite interesting - it's a metaphorical film.

Saw “‘All the money in the world” today.... another good film. I wasn’t aware of this Story, pacing was good and some good acting

crazy how they reshot all of Kevin spaceys scenes in a matter of weeks... lots of scenes , Now with Christopher Plummer. I doubt anything like that had ever been done before.

    I haven’t seen it.

Living in Massachusetts among Massholes is depressing enough; I feel no desire to watch a movie about it.

Plus, as far as Casey Affleck is concerned, where there’s smoke, there’s often fire. If proceeds went to a legal fund for his accusers, I’d pay for that.

Just saw this. Liked it a lot. Tons going on especially in that third insane act.
Several different messages can be taken out of this movie.
I must say too that J. Lawrence was fantastic in this. I do think she is overrated a bit as a whole, but she deserves to be credited here.
