    Anyone seen American Sniper yet?

Going in 1 1/2 hrs. I hope it doesn't make me feel shitty after, I mean it looks real good but sometimes these heavy films wear on you.

I'll chime in with my thoughts later or tomorrow.

Okay, thanks - I'm seeing it Saturday, so I'd be interested to know what you thought of it.

    Generation Um...

It's either a post-modern masterpiece... or a complete pile of shit. It really depends on whether an "existential day-in-the-life portrait that immerses the viewer in the downtown mindsets of John Wall (Keanu Reeves), a lost soul who's been circling the New York City drain for too long, and the two party girls he spends his birthday with as they look for light in the darker aspects of their "family of circumstance" and the paths their self-destructive lives have taken" is going to be your kind of film.

Personally I kinda liked it... although I can't quite figure out why...

    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”

I loved this film, Bradley Cooper is great as usual. So was Sienna Miller.

Great portrayal of War's affect on those fighting on the front lines and their family back home.

Highly recommend , probably my favorite of the year

I enjoyed it. It was good. The gambler on the other hand....I stopped watching it about an hour into the movie. I like Mark wahlberg, but they can't all be winners.
  • I just watched some crazy film called In Time. Absolutely insane concept!! But it was watchable.. Kept me entertained while I was stuck sick in bed for the Week.
  • The Equalizer. Kind of a poor man's Man on Fire. Still real good.

Regarding In Time, the concept is great. The movie itself is pretty bad. Too bad they messed that one up. It could have been really good! And Justin Timberlake is fairly awesome, so it was a waste of him too.

This was my first thought as well, but I only watched it the one time, and I had had fairly high expectations for the movie. So I wonder if I wouldn't enjoy it more on a second watch. You know how it is with movies you were looking forward to which weren't as mind blowing as you were expecting - you get kinda mad at them and just reject it outright. I might have to give it a second watch.

  • Saw The Grey. Sucky but I watched until the end.

Saw Odd Thomas. Enjoyed it more than I expected even though it was goofy. Sad ending.

    What about Bob?

I've seen this many times but I talked my kids into watching it and they thought it was very funny.

Saw American Sniper. I thought it was very well done. I can't remember seeing a movie where the audience applauded at the end.

Grand Budapest Hotel was the last movie I watched and I was surprised how much I liked it. Before that was Imitation Game and I didn't love it - check out Breaking the Code, a TV movie based on the same subject. Much better.
