I might be too frazzled and busy to be a true geek; I long for time to obsess over my interests. I live with ueber-geeks, though.

"Hey Mom, did you know that Sarcosuchus whateverei is thought to have had mating patterns similar to that of Iwasnt listeningus? No, really! Scientists found proof in a fossil bed in --"

At this point, I put on "Leash" at a volume that makes the car windows rattle. You would, too, if you heard these lectures for several hours each day.

    i'm a GEEK! :D

i become obsessive with just about anything that i like.

i hang out in a bookstore to relax. i don't even buy anything most of the time....but i do have a TON of books that i still haven't read sitting on my bookshelf.

i used to LOVE the show Sliders....i think now it comes on Sci-Fi during the day when i can't watch.

i've read almost EVERY book that Anne Rice has ever written. when anyone else speaks of vampires....i'm like, "no, only Anne Rice writes about the REAL ones. no other vampire stories compare!"

i'm really into conspiracy theories. i listen to tons of Podcasts about stuff like that: paranormal activity, time travel, conspiracy theories, the real history of the US, immortals, etc.....and it's not that i believe in it all, but it's very interesting and keeps me occupied as i do my data entry at work. :p

and i just found out that the series - 4400 on USA was canceled. i'm so heartbroken! :(

i've read the history of Middle Earth (the Silmarillion) 3 times and love it!

i've got a story for just about every situation.

and when i know facts about something, i can't stop myself, i'll tell you everything i know.

    i google just about EVERYTHING!

    i'm such a geek....but i like being a geek! :D

okay one thing... when i first saw the dinosaurs in jurassic park i cried.

Oh no - you did?! I did too! That is one of my favorite movies.

    Okay let's see:
Star Trek - Original, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine
    X Files
Took my first computer programming course and programmed on CARDS, before terminals were available at our University.
Anne Rice - I'm re-reading The Vampire Lestat as we speak. The witches series is good too.
Subways - they fascinate me - I spend spare time looking at subway maps for various cities and planning and memorizing. Mostly New York, but I'm branching out to Philly, Chicago and trains in Cali. I like riding the subway when I get a chance. The signs, the colors, the stairs, the whole process. I know I've really outed my geek self now.
    R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
    R.i.p. My Dad - May 28, 2007
    R.i.p. Black Tail (cat) - Sept. 20, 2008

was it Taltos? because after that she writes about the witches and the vampires together, and it involves a lot of Mona Mayfair, but i won't say anymore because i don't want to give it away. and have you read the other vampire stories? seriously i've read all of her books except for Out of Eden and the sleeping beauty ones. :o

i haven't...the only ones i read were the first couple of mayfair books. and that was so long ago, i think i will go back and read them again. maybe i can get into the last (probably taltos, yes--have to look) one this time.
the sleeping beauty ones were written under a different name, right?

yeah, you should re-read the first two...there's so much information that leads up to Taltos. i had to do that too and just read them last year, i think.

and the sleeping beauty ones are under a different name, but i had to look it up. i pulled this quote off of Wikipedia
Rice has also published adult-oriented fiction under the pen name Anne Rampling, and has written explicit sado-masochistic erotica as A.N. Roquelaure.

apparently she wrote more.....i had no idea....interesting
