Are you a geek? Do your friends roll their eyes and shake their heads as you bore them rigid with monologues on your latest obsession? (except PJ, who could be bored by that? ;))
Do you obsess over things that others would find boring? Are you the kind of person that likes to discuss the whys and wherefores of everything?

Be loud and proud. Post here about your passions, obsessions and maybe find a like-minded soul.

I'll start...

I'm proud of being a geek. My main obsessions apart from PJ and other music include:
Nature and nature documentaries.
Cooking and food.
Knitting and needlecrafts.
Fantasy and Sci-Fi novels, especially Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
I'm sure there's more...

Added to all this my brain seems to hold a vast amount of useless trivia that will only ever be of use to me should I enter some crazy quiz show.

I once had a giant comic book collection, but I inherited it with my first marriage and lost it in the divorce, so I don't think that counts. I read a lot, but its mostly books about how to identify plants and animals and how to sabotage people and machinery so I don't know if that counts either.

I did really enjoy Iron Man... ah, what the hell, call me a geek.

    I am a geek because I:

love watching Chimp Eden, Ice Road Truckers, The Simpsons & Torchwood

    love to cook

buy a souvenir pen everwhere I visit (mostly from sports teams when I see them play at their home venue).

love to go to local town markets

I can make thousands of Simpson's references

    I am a CPA

I get excited when I see the costumed characters at Disneyland

Damn, I want to kick my own ass for being such a geek!

However, I know that for being a geek, I am a badass geek, so step back!

Well, shit. If quoting Simpsons' episodes makes one a geek, I've got a bad case of it.

I still love animation. All kinds of shows, Aqua Teen, Metalocalypse, Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, etc. I still even watch Tom & Jerry if I'm lounging in the mornings on a day off.

Halloween. I love it, I can't get enough of it. I always go to Halloween Haunt. Hollywood Horror Nights, parties, haunted houses. I just love the Halloween night time season. I've had some haunted houses before myself.

Please go on youtube and seach for "geek like me". You might need to add "Rick Emerson" or "Wonderstrucks". I'd do it, but I don't have access to youtube from work.

It is a song and a video for a really great song about a couple of geeks meet each other and fall in love that's called "Geek Like Me".

It's by a local talk radio guy and his band. It's pretty much made of awesome. If you're a geek, you'll understand.

I am a total music geek, and a foreign cinema geek. My particularly geeky things to talk about are hip-hop, particularly old-school, pre-1990 hip-hop and jazz. Oh, and also New Wave German Cinema. I'm kind of a literature geek too. Thankfully most of my friends tolerate it really well and don't tell me to shut the fuck up which is nice because I really enjoy talking about it :D

Ricky Gervais commented last night that he watches so much on the Discovery & History Channels that you can ask him anything about Nazi's or sharks!

He added that sharks would have been able to find Anne Frank right away!
