I think you meant to quote Leila.
I was pointing out it's in Washington Heights, not in Harlem.

Washington Heights is a New York City neighborhood in the northern reaches of the borough of Manhattan. It is named for Fort Washington, a fortification constructed by Continental Army troops during the American Revolutionary War at the highest point on Manhattan island to defend the area from the British forces. During the Battle of Fort Washington, on November 16, 1776, the fort was captured by the British at great cost to the American forces; 130 soldiers were killed or wounded, and an additional 2,700 captured and held as prisoners, many of whom died on prison ships anchored in New York Harbor. The progress of the battle is marked by a series of bronze plaques along Broadway.

I have been to the United Palace Theatre. It looks like a shit hole from the outside on a corner in Washington Heights. The theatre is breathtaking. The church that bought it restored and if you think the Beacon Theatre or RCMH
are beautiful what till you see this place. It is jawdropping and the acoustics are tremendous. http://www.theunitedpalace.com Don't be intimitated by the neighborhood. Parking is close and there are great watering holes close by.

Look- quit scaring the non-natives. NY as with any place in the world, has its good parts and bad ones. Did anyone have any problems when they came to MSG? Everyone had a good time? Washington heights will be fine as well.

Just don't be obvious that you are a tourist!

ok I have limited travel around the US but really is everyone that is outside of cities with seaports, nuts or way weird and prejudiced and scared?

    get over it

or maybe think about it and buy tix on TM

I don't care what neighborhood it's in. As long as I can get tickets, I'm going.

Washington Heights. Not a great neighborhood but cool venue. Only a one block sprint from the subway, ha.
