  • I've started Christmas shopping already :o AND! The local shops already have mince pies on sale!

I have a list of things to purchase via the power of the internet and even have a list compiled of who's getting what this year. I know where i'll be and with who... I've NEVER been this organised about Christmas, EVER

I know it annoys the majority of people as it isn't even October yet but has anyone else started?

not this year, but really nowadays i have sooo few gifts to buy.

for years and years it was my *rule* to be completely done with my shopping BEFORE thanksgiving - the last thursday in november for you non-yanks. i always wanted to FULLY enjoy the holiday season, and rushing with crowds not my idea of fun. so i'd have my shopping done, usually all my cards written out....and december would be pure blissful fun!

this year, i will probably 'shop' the first week of december b/c hubby and i plan a week's vacation then. i have all of 4 people to buy for. used to be much more, but it seems as i get older, more and more scale back. wule i loved buying and giving gifts...still do really...it just makes sense. even now, i really only 'buy' for 3....as my mother does not want *stuff* so we usually make a donation in her honor, GCs for her fave restaurants, salon, etc....and a small usuable gift at most. so my one sis and her hubby, and my hubby....but for my guy this year we just got a whole new flat screen TV, upgraded surround sound system....so probably very small gifts, if any. i think i may skip cards this year. i always say i will, and never do...but i think it just might happen. just focus on the season....and the TREE! i love, love, love christmas trees. :D

and yea...blathered on....mea culpa :o....but on point, no...you're not odd at all. i think it's GREAT to take the time and thought, not feel rushed...and when the holidays come around, just enjoy it ALL!
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

If only I had fewer people to buy for :o
This year I have more than usual! lol Being with Dave has increased my gift giving 2 fold! I don't mind though, I really love giving presents and it's my first years as 'part' of his family so i'm all excited :o

I pretty much (after two days solid of trawling the net) know what i'm buying and when. It's gonna be a tight squeeze but i'll be ok :) I just hope everyone likes what they're getting...

You know, after all the presnt talk I'd forgot about the tree and the decorations, the food and the parties... damn I love Christmas :D

    Prezzies for everyone!

haha, but please don't tell me you make your cats wear wigs... If so, I will probably have to embark on a hostage rescue mission to free them from your evil clutches.

My cats won't even wear a collar, no way.

I still have to figure out what to get you, but I know it won't be cat clothes.

years ago we bought for ALL family members. we don't have 'big' immediate families, but add in the kids, etc....it was a lot. i also used to buy for friends. over time, it just seems so *much*....and it naturally got simpler, smaller.....i like it. :) i still LOVE to buy gifts, but i usually go crazier for birthdays....or gifts for no reason are a real fave. :D

however, for you especially this year...i can imagine the excitement. i know i felt the same way, way, waaayyyy :o back when me and mr.dream first coupled up.

i LOVE christmas decorations. BIG TIME. and sure...the food, the drink.......the weather.....NYC dressed for the season....beautiful! i am not a religious person by any stretch, but yea...i love christmas.

    HAVE FUN!

oh, and i have really NO idea what i want to buy anyone....but i know i will.

Your gift to Trix will make all the rest of us look like chumps. I mean how are we supposed to compete with that? I might as well not get her anything. She would just smile politely and then go play with her new Ed.

And now I have to get you something too? Oh man, I guess I'm glad I have so many shopping days left... Time to get all those children out of my acid mine and get them back to work in my sweat shop.

I will take a new Stone. In fact, I'll even let him play lead guitar in my band... and possibly sing once in a while.

Tis waaaay too early for xmas shopping! Most of the people I have to buy for are under the age of 4, so they'll be easy to get stuff for. The fella is being annoying and not let me spend over €50 this year for his birthday and xmas cos we went a bit mad last year on the whole xmas/birthday thingy. It makes sense cos we're skint but I wanna shower him with gifts cos he's awesome!

Bah, christmas shopping is nothing more than a fix up trap to keep us all on our f-in uppers while we make the man richer. Screw christmas, keep your money safe, do something proper with it.

yeah, you may go off it yourself when you get a couple of kids, then christmas just represents spending too much money.

    RIGHT!!

The official PJ Pit Grinch/Scrooge list 2008:

    eyedclaar
    JamieUK
    Heineken Helen
(for telling me to 'fuck off' at the mere mention of Christmas)

The list WILL get bigger if more people don't start being nice about Christmas!!

And Jamie (Grinch #2), as you don't appear to appreciate the festivities, you will no longer be receiving a gift from myself and Dave. The sheep lube will just have to go back for a refund.
