  • The local shops already have mince pies on sale!

What is a mince pie? My Grandma used to make mince meat pies, but I didn't like them. I'm not even sure they had meat in them, but maybe they did.

Mince pies don't have meat in them these days

They are one of the most traditional Christmas things here ... and what we leave out for Santa ;) Those and Christmas crackers were missed when I had Christmas in the US.

I haven't started shopping yet but always make sure I'm finished by the end of November.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

I love mince pies, and I had no idea that Cromwell made it illegal to eat them on Christmas day! I wonder if that law still stands... hmm...

I wanna be done by the end of November, that way I can focus on my mum's birthday and relaxing in December :)

That is what my grandma made. I think she made it with raisans. I don't think she used suet though. I thought that was something one put in bird feeders. I probably wouldn't eat it then because of all the raisans. I would probably like it now.

    quite fucking right! :):);)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Damn straight. It isn't fair that hard working citizens like Dunk and myself slave away day in and day out, working our fingers to the bone, while some people just stay home wasting their time and lives in the PJ message pit...

i've paid my taxes for 12 years... not my fault I got let go and besides, do I look bovvered? :D you'd do it too if your job let you go! So would dunk... him with a mortgage and kids... he'd be the first on the unemployment queue getting what he's entitled to. Everyone would.

Now Heineken, you didn't really think I was honestly sugesting that Dunk and I work for a living? I mean, we might get paid, but work? C'mon now, I was clearly joking.

oh I know you were joking... but dunk actually reckons he works hard and keeps the world on its axis. The rest of us will quite happily admit that we're wasters :D ok, well not all of us... but anyone with upwards of 10,000 posts during working hours can't really take the moral high ground on this one :D . Well I'm sure they'll try but my fingers are in my ears and I'm going 'lalalalala can't hear you' :D
