Oh good. Thought I might need to worry about something there for a second.

Well, it was for me...at the time. Too many nights spent with just a bottle of wine for company, lead to a very unhappy hippie :(

I don't want to go there again, so drinking is a strictly social thing for me now.

There's nothing I hate more than seeing an unhappy hippie... I mean why even bother being a hippie if you're gonna be all frowny about it?

See, I quite like a beer or three by myself, listening to music or watching a good film (like now maybe:o:p) but since alcohol just heightens my emotions, whatever they are, I have a really hard time of it if I'm feeling down. Always best to stay away from it then. Plus, I can be the nicest guy in the world when drunk if I'm in a good place or I can be a complete dick to be around. Thankfully the latter Jamie has only revealed himself once or twice.

Excellent! Now I'm happy too... for a few fleeting moments anyway. Just kidding, I have my bottle!

  • I drink 5-6 days a week with 1-3 drinks each of those days. I mostly drink wine, but sometimes on Saturday I will also drink a couple vodka sodas.
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

When I go out, normally 2-4 drinks tops. Unless I have a DD.

At home I can usually down about a half liter of Jack, or Vodka, if I'm in the drinking mood. Granted I'm usually very drunk by that point.

Anyway, I don't drink nearly as much as I used to, and my consumption level changes so much from week to week its hard to say how much a day I drink.

    been sober three years ..

I'm not an evangilical type..so decide what works for you..

My life just became unmanagegable and I had panic attacks like crazy...

funny thing, when you put down the drink, the anti-depressant actually starts to work..!

    what a concept..??

Reading some of your posts, it made me remember that I
had no ability to "just have one drink"..

that was impossible for me.. what good is one drink really?

    for me at least..

After going almost 10 years without a drink I now drink 4-5 times a week. Usually it is a half bottle of red or 3-4 Jameson's.

Sort of. It's good for your heart, bad for your liver. Your liver can regenerate and your heart can't though so I know which one I care most about :D

  • Don't you just love those all-day drinking sessions?! Not that they happen very often, but I love those lazy summer days where you start drinking in the afternoon, bbq on the go, good music, all your friends round, drinking into the small hours - nothing better! :D

This is usually every Saturday morning/afternoon with me and my 2 roommates after a Friday night of drinking...Obviously the only thing to cure the hangover from drinking is more drinking.

I also know that ibuprophen is bad for your liver, so if I have to take any pain killers I won't drink that day.

So in other words you are saying that drinking makes you hungry leading to increased reading and taking shits?

  • The last time I drank alcohol was July 28th 2000, came to the realization that drinking did nothing for me, it was just a waste of time. I have not had a drop since, and I don't think I ever will.

I don't like to drink more than 6 drinks when going out.. At home I try to keep it at 3 or less. I rarely get "drunk", but do drink a little to take the edge of before bed.

Good to hear. I wish I could do that. I'm pretty high strung and if I don't have a few drinks before bed I get bad insomnia.. I figure my liver or feeling like Tyler Durbin all the time..
