Titanic was good, however I'm watching 300 and that was much better.

I liked the movie. A fantastic throwback to the grand, romantic Hollywood films from the olden days.

I like it.. People hate it because it was too popular and I agree, it was over-rated,.. but I saw it on opening night before the hype.. it was by chance. Me and a high school buddy were bored. We actually arrived in the theater a few minutes after the start and it was one of my more memorable movie experiences.

I think I associate it with Celine Dion and I don't like her at all; although the song in it is a good love song I suppose. Still, I don't know how they could have fallen in love so fast. I am afraid of water big time so it is scary to think of the whole sinking ship thing. Is it over yet Trix?

its a cool flick i guess. the big thing that turns me off is how many times they say each others names Jack, Rose, Jack, Rose, Jack, Rose, Jack, Rose, Jack, Rose, Jack, Rose, Jack........BOOM! i would have either shot them, or sank the fuckin' ship myself if i had to really listen to that for, how many days?

that has always bothered me. from the first time ive seen it. and ive seen it a gazillion times. both my ex wife, and my gf loves the movie.
not to mention my old drummer was a sappy ass and watched it non stop too.

im just sick of hearing them say each others name. good drinking game movie though.
girls drink whenever he says rose, guys drink whenever she say jack!!
    your drunk!!
    Peace, Love.

I thought it was a good movie, like someone said though, it was very popular which means it loses you street cred to admit to liking it
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

ick...I remember when that movie was out they played that song all the time. I can't even stand to hear it now :p. I did like that movie though. It was probably cheesy but I don't care.

True. But how many great 80's movies would be dismissed if we just dissed them based on their Kenny Loggins soundtracks?

true........and many movies from the past don't get us now like they did then. I watched The Breakfast Club with my kids for the hell of it and it totally sucked now. And the voice dubs were so bad that it was kind of stupid. some things belong in our memories.....

but the plot was really boring and unfortunately leo dicrappo was one of the leads....still don't get what people see in that guy's "acting"

Actually I'd agree with that cb. It is well produced and directed and the special effects and attention to detail are fabulous. But I find the love story really offensive in that circumstance and as for Leo, well I'll never forget seeing him for the first time in What's Eating Gilbert Grape and thinking gee that's amazing what that kid can do. I wonder where they found someone with a disability that can act so well? I guess coming from that frame of mind it's hard to see him as a romantic lead. When they cast him in Titanic and the girlies were all raving I was like WTF????? He don't do it for me in the swoon stakes at all.

Bottom line I guess I'd really have liked to see a movie about the Titanic from an historical perspective that was true not the contrived whining of cate winslet while all those poor sods are bobbing about like frozen peas. It really does offend me. But I can see why other people like it. It just disappointed me. :)
