Yea, you are probably right. I haven't seen the film in a while. I do think the film addresses the class/racial conflicts underlying the story. Nobody comes out of that story unscathed.
:D I don't mean to sound fussy... just that it's one of my favourite lines out of any film and I can even hear him say it... fuck, he was hot in that film :o

No problem. I usually like getting things exactly right. Yea, his tone of voice on the delivery was something. I have to admit, I got a little flushed after he said that.

simple... Russell Crowe and Guy Pierce... why would anyone wanna cast either of them for anything, never mind both together? They both make me wanna cut my own throat.

and you ask if im drunk. pfft. you speak shit helen. russell crowe is the greatest actor of his generation on his day. and LA confidential was one of those times. as for guy pearce...well he was at his best in priscilla queen of the desert.:p the academy is horsehit. tis not about talent , tis all political... cause that is the only explanation for 3 songs from enchanted being nominated this year and eddie vedder missing out all together. :D

No, it didn't have to be a doco, I just found the romantic story line highly contrived and not doing justice to the rest of the film. :)

And I have no problem with the young fellas in film but Leo, I dunno he's too pastey faced or somethin??? Just doesn't do it for me.

I'd rather look at Kate's hooters than him, not that she didn't spend the entire film shitting me to tears with her whiney crap!!!

:o Well, I liked it anyway. You lot are a bunch of elitests/miserable buggers/cynics/cranks..........feel free to choose one :p

    who cares what people think?

here's the thing. take away the celine dion thing. take away all the parodies of the "king of the world" moment. take away all the hype.

it is a great movie. romantic, suspenseful, dramatic, heartbreaking, epic.

i saw it in the theater near the beginning of its run. i cried like a baby during several scenes. i watched it this weekend also. and i cried when jack dies.

It was big business over here too. Circa 1912.

I really liked Kate and I don't mind Leo (basketball diaries/blood diamond/the beach/departed/etc) but the acting in Titanic bothered me as well as the songs, the mushyness, some of it seemed a bit unrealistic.....and nobody had a chainsaw thrown at them;)

I'm with the folks who love this movie. You really have to be one miserable person to not get swept up in this movie..And what's with the Leo bashing? He's in some great fucking flicks!!

Just proves your a Leo slappy who will love whatever he's in, because that movie is horrible.

No, that proves absolutely nothing because I already mentioned all of the movies I liked that he happened to be in. There are a ton in which he was involved in that I don't care for in the least. However, 'Gangs of New York,' and 'The Departed,' are both in my top 10 all time list :)..

The most unrealistic part of that movie imo is when kate winslet has perfect aim with the ax in the one scene when she's freeing Leo from the handcuff and she had her eyes closed!

The only cool thing about this movie (i said movie..pay attention!) is that the ship sank, which pretty much warranties there won't ever be a sequel.
