I swear this movie comes on everytime I have been out drinking with my girlfriends and I end up not being able to fall asleep and I start a thread about it.
I am almost positive I did it at least one other time.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away0 -
Pearls&Stones wrote:True. But how many great 80's movies would be dismissed if we just dissed them based on their Kenny Loggins soundtracks?
true........and many movies from the past don't get us now like they did then. I watched The Breakfast Club with my kids for the hell of it and it totally sucked now. And the voice dubs were so bad that it was kind of stupid. some things belong in our memories.....Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......
Together we will float like angels.........
In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........0 -

 The Breakfast Club is, and forever will be, awesome.

oh and since i've posted in this thread, i will say the titanic the a well produced, directed movie.....the special effects are amazing
but the plot was really boring and unfortunately leo dicrappo was one of the leads....still don't get what people see in that guy's "acting"0 -

Actually I'd agree with that cb. It is well produced and directed and the special effects and attention to detail are fabulous. But I find the love story really offensive in that circumstance and as for Leo, well I'll never forget seeing him for the first time in What's Eating Gilbert Grape and thinking gee that's amazing what that kid can do. I wonder where they found someone with a disability that can act so well? I guess coming from that frame of mind it's hard to see him as a romantic lead. When they cast him in Titanic and the girlies were all raving I was like WTF?????He don't do it for me in the swoon stakes at all.
Bottom line I guess I'd really have liked to see a movie about the Titanic from an historical perspective that was true not the contrived whining of cate winslet while all those poor sods are bobbing about like frozen peas. It really does offend me. But I can see why other people like it. It just disappointed me.NOPE!!!

It's 10 years now since the UK release. What bothered me was all the nearby vessels that weren't disturbed whatsoever when the Titanic finally went down, surely the suction pull would have been immense. That and the unlikelyhood of the poor irish boy getting in with the gentry. It can all be overlooked I suppose, don't wanna be pedantic.......0

A night to remember was WAY better
they copied all the best scenes directly from that and pasted it into colour and then added a stupid love story... which was completely unnecessary... the story itself is amazing without needing to add all that crap.
'I'll never let go Jack' as she pries his hands from the wood and shoves him into the freezing water  Pah!The Astoria??? Orgazmic!

A bit like Kirsten hey?
No, it didn't have to be a doco, I just found the romantic story line highly contrived and not doing justice to the rest of the film.
And I have no problem with the young fellas in film but Leo, I dunno he's too pastey faced or somethin??? Just doesn't do it for me.
I'd rather look at Kate's hooters than him, not that she didn't spend the entire film shitting me to tears with her whiney crap!!!NOPE!!!

I agree Hels. Night to Remember was a much better film and if that silly biatch had got on the goddam life raft and stayed there he wouldn't have died. The whole thing pissed me off!! Dumbest love story ever!!!NOPE!!!

I thought A Night to Remember was better as well, and frankly much more scary. Another vote for contrived love story, and what a cliche one at that. Poor boy dies for love. I also can't stand the song either. It is like one of those old phone commercials that you have an emotional reaction to but feel dirty afterwards. Like you let yourself be seduced by something skanky. To pie I will reply

I really loved him in Gangs of New York. Daniel Day Lewis as well. I thought they were great together. Also, Daniel Day Lewis delivers one of the best movies lines ever in Last of the Mohicans:
"Stay alive, I will come for you!!!"
Now that was a love story. To pie I will reply

Let's simmer down everyone...it was just a thread about a movie.
My peeve with the production of the movie is the thousands of historic costumes that were destroyed. Truly, they emptied out the costume houses.
I love the Celine song.
I love Leo.
I love Kate.
I love San Dimas.
Jeanie, I would have still climbed out.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
