If i remember right, I think it had something to do with his injury. That could have been a BS excuse, of course
  • Plaxico is really just shootin himself in the foot with all these mistakes he keeps making ;). Ehh, anyway he's really trying his hardest to fuck up what could be a legendary NY Giants season. Hasn't happened yet, lets hope the G-men keep fighting through adversity and get through this. Hixon looked nasty last week so hopefully he can keep it up.

He had a good game during Plax's first missed game this season. And had a stellar preseason.

that's just the official story. in actuality, I'm still super-pissed about him bowing out after 1 play last week and knocking me out of the playoffs (I would have made it if he caught a TD OR 100 YDS, OR if I knew he was a pussy, i would have started Vincent jackson) so I shot his wiener off last night. Steven Jackson is next

with r without him, Giants just keep handling their business. It doesn't seem to have distracted the team yet so we're still alright.

damn like the only dude on the team that I remotely like and he goes and does this shit. Oh well, at least Eli still sucks...sure he can throw for 300+ against an 8 man front, but he can still hit DBs in the numbers when they know he's gonna pass. The thing that's frustrating for non-Gmen rooters is that your frigging running game is sick, and essentially makes the game really easy for Eli...he only has to make 3-5 good plays out of 25 throws, not turn the ball over, and let the defense roll.

Basically I think it's going to come down to whether or not the Cowboys are healthy and in the playoffs for anyone to have the talent to compete with the Giants this year. Last year they crushed the Giants for 2 1/2 quarters in the playoffs, and are probably better equipped this year to take them out (Roy Williams, Michael Jenkins and PacMan instead of the other Roy Williams)...but, they sure did dig themselves a hole. Is there anyone else out there that can beat you? Carolina or TBay...HA!, Arizona, no way. NFC North...not really even close. The AFC? I guess the Steelers played you tough, but they never threatened.

Eli has a 91.6 QB rating this year. How does that suck? His job is to manage the team, which he is obviously doing as they have the best record in the league. And he makes key third down throws all the time.

As for the Cowboys- they WILL make the playoffs. Redskins and Arizona would both have to make it to knock Dallas out and thats not happening. Neither of those teams are that good- hell there aren't many good teams at all this year.

One of these teams will win the SB: Giants, Indy, Steelers, Dallas, or Tennessee.

  • Another solid W. You just can't knock us down. Just like the playoff run last year.....the Giants get hit (in anyway) ..... they hit back twice as hard.

Anyone disappointed with Antonio Pierce? I'm talking on the field and off.
Yes, he controls the D and makes the right calls but he's really not making any big plays plus he looks heavy and out of shape. Not to mention some of his off field activity.

I grew in NY and most of my friends are G-Men fans, and they all still agree that he sucks. He's got the Matt Leinart at USC mojo going right now where he's willing to do anything b/c it works sometimes, and he gets away with it like all the time. For instance please see: the ridiculously nice pass to Amani Toomer as opposed to the godawful throw that should have been picked. Anyway passer ratings aside, as a non-fan of the Giants, I still see the only way to beating you is to put the game in Eli's hands.

However you want to stop the run game with seven instead of eight so that he has to make difficult decisions, and maybe even get a reprise of his patented 8 step drop, throwing into double coverage of his backfoot, passes (which he HAS made this year but the team hasn't been punished because they are usually smoking their opponent). In all he's a good QB, definitely in the lower half of the second tier (somewhere around 12-15), but has learned that he doesn't have to win the game for the team. Once the game was taken out of his hands and put on the running game they started dominating...it's pretty simple to see really. Or put it this way...what would Philly's record be with Eli Manning (and I hate the Eagles too) throwing 60% of the time? 3-10? 4-9?

Eli has made so many key 3rd down plays lately. He keeps his composure better than most of the QBs in the league. There's no way Eli is between 12th and 15th in QB standings- yea his yardage and pass completions aren't that high but you have to look at the overall game. His hard count confuses defenses, he knows when to throw the ball away, he gets all of his receivers involved.

Without the great run game they wouldn't be 11-1, well obviously every great team is well rounded. Whoever thinks Eli isn't the single most important factor of his team is fooling themselves. And why does it matter what the Eagles record would be if he was on the team? I don't get that argument. He plays for the Giants, ya know the team with the good coach and more than one good player.

That pass to Toomer was bad, but all great QBs have those types of plays. See: Peyton, Favre, Cutler, Romo, etc. They would've beat the Skins even with that INT. That's pretty selective to pick that one bad pass out of all the good ones he had that game.

now Mayor Bloomberg has gotten involved-

he wants absolutely no leniancy on Plax,

whatever the outcome, its obvious Big Blue doesnt need him or his antics,

i think, after all this unfolds, Plaxs' days as a NY Giant are numbered.

He's being arraiigned and booked this afternoon.

what are you smoking? i want some....you must not follow the nfl very much with your playoff analysis. arizona is a lock for the playoffs, they would have to lose every game and have san fran run the table. you think san fran will beat out arizona? ha. good one. redskins also have a better shot than dallas at making the playoffs. dallas has to play at pittsburgh, home against the giants, baltimore and at philly to end the season. doesn't matter. most likely the nfc will look like this at the end of the season.....

    giants
    vikings
    tampa bay
    arizona

    wild cards

    carolina
    atlanta

as for the eli manning hater you were arguing with....he must be smoking the same stuff. eli is easily a top 5 quarterback this year. i'd argue that in the clutch category, which isn't measured in statistics, he is number one. he proves it time and time again. there is no one i would rather have leading my offense right now than eli. there's no point in arguing about it though because as was acknowledged before, our running game is unstopable without putting 8 men in the box. do that and eli will eat you alive. doesn't matter who is playing receiver. we all know the defense can get it done as well. it's gonna take a great game from an opponent and an off day for the g men for someone to knock them off this year. here's to the giants and a repeat!

Let me re-explain myself because last night I wasn't making too much sense- I think studying for finals has gotten to me.

It's supposed to say Washington and Carolina. I could include Atlanta too but I think they'll die out soon. So chill out there man. Next time you can ask someone to clarify something before being a dick.

haha. sorry dude, seriously didn't mean to be a dick. just takin a jab at you cause i thought it was funny that you said arizona won't make the playoffs. any giant fan is a friend of mine, so don't take it personally.

seriously though, i'm not worried about carolina either, but you really think they will miss the playoffs? they are 9-3. furthermore, carolina and atlanta have tie breakers over dallas. i just don't see how dallas will make the playoffs with that brutal schedule they have coming up. i think washington sucks too, and yeah, dallas is probably the better team, but i still think washington has a better shot that dallas because of the remaining schedule. nfc south records are too strong though for those teams to get knocked out. at least two of them will make it. two 9-3 teams and atlanta at 8-4. that's just how i see it.

all that matters though for us giant fans is tha none of these teams can beat us if we play to our capabilities.

Well I hope you're right because I hate Dallas more than any other sports team. At this point I will be so disappointed if the Giants don't make the Super Bowl. It just seems like everything is lined up perfectly for them.

hey just because I don't suck on Eli's balls doesn't mean I don't think your team is the best in the league. I really just don't find him to be a top QB...the kind of guy that if all the rest of my team sucked would actually help my team win. At the same time there are VERY few of those. In other words D-Nabb wins with the Giants, as does Big Ben, Peyton, Romo, Garcia, Pennington, Derek Anderson, Joe Flacco, David Garrard, Phil Rivers, Jay Cutler, Jason Campbell, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, uninjured Hasselback, and the new improved Kurt Warner. Put it this way if Eli played for any of those other teams would they be good...no.

Thus, what I will stand by is that without the run game Eli is TERRIBLE (he proved this for like 4 years). Your are kidding yourself if you think your team wins because of anything else besides defense, running, defense again, running again, good route running receivers (how Toomer who runs a 5.7 40 still gets open is beyond me and the 5 foot 1 Steve Smith does the same is silly), and then Eli. He is essentially the rich man's Trent Dilfer, no he won't miss wide open double moves (which you guys saw 3 of in the 2000 SB from TD), but do you really want the ball in his hands? Really? No Really? He did hit Brandon Merriweather AND Asante Samuel in the hands only to have them drop it besides getting the greatest catch of all time to go his way in the Super Bowl. Aside from the Carney/Tynes potential problem (one time you might have to kick a 46 yard field goal), he is your only fatal flaw...that and when a really fat O line decides to push your little, but ridiculously awesome, D-Line around.

Again the Giants are the best team in the league...having Eli as your weakness is pretty insignificant. The only team I really see having a shot at them this year is the Cowboys, and they may/may not make the playoffs. Plus, even if they do, they still have to win a game to play you all so, in other words, there's nothing to worry about ;).

Out of all those QBs I'd put Ben, Peyton, and Romo ahead of Eli.

Out of all those QBs I'd put Ben, Peyton, and Romo ahead of Eli.
I'd say Cutler, Rodgers, and Favre (who I forgot) are ahead as well....I was making a point with the others...Eli is kinda in their class. Not going to win things for you, but not gonna lose things either. That means he's a middle tier QB. Garrard was great last year when he had a nice O-Line and running game...did you see him tonight? Terrible. Most QBs are terrible without a running game. In fact only Peyton and an un-injured Brady can do things with no running game. The Cowboys and Steelers always lose when they run for nothing. EDIT Don't forget Drew Brees either.
  • Eli is the best QB in football. period. fuck brees, cutler, and big ben (are you for real even mentioning him????).

HE IS A WINNER. THATS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.

he manages the game and can win it if necessary.

he can win the game by himself. he does. he is the best in the game at 2 minute drill.

    ELI MVP. hands down.

This is just ridiculous. I like the guy and agree he knows how to manage a game... but MVP!?!? Not even close.

you are right, its not even close. nobody is in his league. he hasnt had one bad game yet this year. there were games when he wasnt needed, but he has not cost his team one game. dont even go to the cleveland game because bad bounces, insane pressure, and lack of pressue killed them that game.

do you honestly belive the giants would be 11-1 with Carr as QB?

without him, they are nowhere close to 11-1, nowehre close to the team they are now.

he is the most important player to his team in the NFL.
