Once an area has a reputation, people -- even people who have never been there or had a bad experience there -- for some reason love joking about and harping on it.
Whatever. I've been to about 30 shows there and never had less than a great experience."They said ... timing was everything
made him ... want to be everywhere
there's a ... lot to be said for nowhere."0 -

ditto. i hate when people act like they know something because they caught a glimpse. it's like flying over Europe and saying you've toured the continent.Camden I '06, Camden II '06, Bonnaroo '08, Camden I '08, Camden II '08, Philly Spectrum II/III/IV '09, MSG I '10, MSG II '10, Made In America '12, Wrigley '13, Brooklyn II '13, Philly I '13, Philly II '13, ...0 -

Haha I'm originally from near Camden but going to school in North Carolina. Yes, there ARE rednecks, but they probably make up about 8% of Southern population. Many nice, respectable people down here and for the most part, very accepting of this Yankee.Camden I '06, Camden II '06, Bonnaroo '08, Camden I '08, Camden II '08, Philly Spectrum II/III/IV '09, MSG I '10, MSG II '10, Made In America '12, Wrigley '13, Brooklyn II '13, Philly I '13, Philly II '13, ...0 -

What i would like to see is a "Electric Factory" show from them. Now that would be neat.
Even better ...come up to the biggest hole besides Camden...Reading Pa. i would only have to drive 10 minutes then.
How late does the ferry operate? If you stay in Philly and take the
ferry over to the concert can you return to Philly on the ferry after
the show?4/22/92 St. Petersburg, 8/23/92 Orlando, 3/29/94 St. Petersburg, 10/7/96 Ft. Yes, the ferry operates after the show. I took the ferry back after both shows in 06. It is typically a mad rush to get down there after the show but I think the ferry runs until everyone makes it back across. As I recall, there were cops around for safety purposes as well.0 -

My buddy and i parked on the street (too cheap to pay the $15 parking) in Camden, '03 ...
we had a crack head try to sell us some cocaine the second we stepped foot on the sidewalk ... seriously ... i mean, opened the door and bhang ... there was Ashy Larry, trying to hook me up with some crack.
But, being the clever genius, i turned lemons in to lemonade, by promising to THINK about buying some crack ... which make Ashy Larry ever so generous, and he agreed to give us a "tour" of the "best parking lots" at the show.
Lol.
Oh,
when we got back to the car after the show, sure as shit, there was Ashy Larry waiting to sell me that bag of crack. So my buddy just runs to the cop posted at the corner and tells him there is a crackhead harassing us, and bada-bing-bada-boom ... wouldn't you know it ... Ashy Larry took off running.
So,
reputation or not,
i'd say some of it is justified.

If I opened it now would you not understand?0 -
since everyone is debating camden...my recommendations.
1) take the ferry from philly....so yu get free parking. Pay the 4 dollar or so round trip ticket.
2)grab as many beers as you can...since they have a cut off!! Hate that!!
3)Grab a lawn area..enjoy your neighbors
4) you can sing as loud as you want..and no one cares
5) Your seeing you fav. band live. so does it really matter if the surrounding city is crap. just look to the left and yu see a great philly skyline.
i hope the weather is nice and warm...with a little breeze.
See you there!!!0 -
By far the greatest tailgate everbeing so KiND.. tO LEt me RiDe!!!0
