Nice game 1. Nice effort. Tough at first, but they kept fighting.

    Game 2 is big.

How fucking sweet was that???? :D

Is there any bigger dagger than a two out, two strike BOMB??? (esp. on the road) :D

Reminds me of Will Clark hitting a GS in the 1989 playoffs at Wrigley. Cubs won Game 2 but were done, anyway.

I was standing in front of my TV with my Dodgers hat on (not really :D) saying "C'mon Manny, c'mon Derek, c'mon Andre, c'mon Loney, etc., etc." I think my wife lost some respect for me, but she didn't have much to begin with. :D

I'm half tempted to start some shit in the Cubs thread, but I won't. Half those "fans" only like 'em cuz they're Ed's team. :p

    DODGERS WIN!!!

    Interesting postseason

Could have an all LA world series or an all Chicago series

I went to the Subway series in 2000, and it was something else

I hope one of these cities gets its wish. Pulling a bit more for LA, cause I like Torre and it would mean Angels would send the Red Sox home early

    GO LA :D

Haha, great game. Underdog Dodgers just smacked the Cubs in the mouth. Love the Manny golf swing HR. Sorry Eddie, but Dodger Blue is gonna prevail. Go Dodgers!!

Well, not so much in the Cubs thread man. For the most part we're all real fans. But I'll give you that plenty of people on the board would "root" for the Cubs cause of Eddie, which is lame as hell. You guys spanked us, but you're organization is a class act, unlike certain other teams. So just cheer on your team like you're doing, and leave it at that for now.

PS Manny is the best postseason hitter I've ever seen, time to start walking that guy. That trade has obviously been great for you guys.

one of the best trades in dodger history....as for walking him, the way we've been hitting, if you walk manny to get to ethier, chances are a run could score....i think ethier's obp is over 1 or some crazy thing

point is, manny hasn't just played better since he came to la, he has made the hearth of the lineup stronger by relieving the pressure....casey blake also was key in helping us hit better :)

manny for mvp - i don't see a reason why not....and he could have gone to any team and done the same and i'd still feel the same.....most valuable player....he may have only been there for a couple months, but his presence/attitude got the team into the playoffs.....what's more valuable than that? :)

I have been a Dodger fan forever..

    Go Big Blue Bus, Go!!!
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

My puppy got me up at 4:00 this morning....couldn't sleep anyway.....I was too excited. :D

Got my Dodger hat on, again (not really :D).

23 of 28 teams winning Game One of the NLDS have gone on to win the thing. I like those odds :D. Zambrano may be shaky tonight. Let's hope so.

Me, too.....if since Monday counts as "forever" :p. Some of you more seasoned :D fans will have to fill me in on Billingsley. Wish a healthy Penny or Schmidt were ready....

Regarding walking Manny: An overlooked part of the story is the guys batting in front of Manny have been taking walks themselves! That makes it next to impossible to walk Manny without major damage (i.e., last night, with Loney's grand salami).

Now, if they start to give Furcal and Martin meaty fastballs, they need to make them pay.

Billingsley is arguably the Dodgers' most dominant starter. I like our chances tonight, but I am sure Zambrano will bring it too.

Billingsley has been the most consistent Dodgers pitcher this season. He has a nasty fastball in the mid-90's and a slider that hits the low-90's at times. He is a terror against impatient, strikeout-prone teams like the Cubs; in fact, he had 201 strikeouts in 200 innings this year. That's big-time.

I'm expecting a well-pitched, tightly-contested game tonight. If the Dodgers win, I can't see the Cubs coming back to win the series.

I have tickets for games 3 and 4 (if necessary) in L.A. I've never been to a baseball playoff game before. It's gonna be crazzzzzzzzzzy.

Nice. Get there early and enjoy the pre-game introductions. Give Torre a big cheer for me.

Don't get too down, and us Dodger fans shouldn't get too up. It's just one game. Don't buy into the media saying it's over.

There are probably more Cub fans in the country than almost any other sports team, so I don't think everyone who says they are a Cubs fan is because of Eddie here.
