So is the torential rain still coming down? Are we going to get a game in?
I believe there won't be pre-game lineups. It's the middle of the game. Not sure about the national anthem, but it would seem that you wouldn't do that either.
It would have been interesting if this delay had gone 4 days. Hamels could have gone back out and finished it no problem.
That would be sweet. It should be moisture free tonight, but fucking cold. The wind chill is going to make it feel like 32 degrees.
Hey, I was just wondering, anyone ever check out phillyblog.com? It's run by vBulletin just like the Pit....Not gonna lie, might start hitting that up.
I think that article answered a more important question than my silly national anthem question.
I totally agree... and can you see it now, the fans (possibly) celebrating and going nuts all while trying to not spill beers.. or better yet by covering each other in beer
jp- yeah that was my guess as well.... especially after the gun article.

5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.
Just read the Angels aren't picking up the option on Garrett Anderson. Anyone think they'll go after him? I could see him being a perfect replacement if Burrell doesn't come back. He's only a year older than Pat and making about the same amount of money, gets about the same stats, and hits for a way better average.

He's a lefty right??? I know the Phils need some righthanded bats in their order especially in the "power" spots of the lineup... so my first thought would be yeah, they'll look but they need some righthanded power to balance that lineup.

Yeah, that's why I would take a serious stab at Holliday. That'll be about 7 mil more than you're paying Pat now, and I know how all salaries will be going wayyy up this offseason. But it's definitely worth it with his age, this ballpark, right handed bat.

Are you sure you read the stats right? Burrell just turned 32 two weeks ago. Anderson is 36. Anderson hasn't hit more than 17 homers since the 2003 season.
I don't think it would be a good move at all for the Phils. He's a lefty bat who's been below league average in OPS 3 of the last 4 seasons that never walks.

Woops. I was reading the article on ESPN and got ahead of myself - they were referring to the 32 year old Guerrero.
my offseason consists of signing Victorino, Werth, Hamels and Howard to long term deals. trading for Holliday and maybe picking up a pitcher for the rotation. and MAN I'd like to get a stud 3rd baseman

Don't worry, dude. This team's gonna be good with it's core for at least the next 4-5 years. I'm just saying, and fuck Bill Simmons book, but I'll be able to die in peace if they win!
Big decisions will be made once the numbers shake out in Arbitration
True, counting raises from arbitration and contractual obligations (off the top of my head Lidge, Utley, Myers, Feliz, Jenkins, Eaton and a few others all have raises next season), the Phils payroll will be at the same level or a little higher even with Burrell, Moyer, and Gordon being free agents without signing anyone.
Wow, that's a jump of over 35 mil in payroll in one year and would put the Phils 4th in total payroll ahead of the Red Sox.
Yeah I read somewhere that they(Monty) said payroll would be around 133. All in all between the current roster and other players they're paying, the roster this year I think came to about 115. I'm talking players like Eaton, Thome, etc.

Was this before or after your 30pk ?
