I love how the people who live here and actually watch the Sox play every night have a realistic view of their chances in the postseason and the displaced Red Sox fans (and dickheads like Wob) think we're being negative.

At any rate, I can't wait to watch how it all unravels. I hope we win it all, but I've been through enough losses this season that were eerily similar to last night's (i.e., bullpen shitting the bed) to curb my enthusiasm.

I've got Sunday's game and the first ALDS game at Fenway. Should be a blast!

Ahhhh man that's awesome, that's got to feel good to be able to go to those games. I would be going out of my mind, my last game at Fenway was 1999 September after a summer in Nantucket.

just my opinion but....I think that light show that they do at Yankee Stadium when the Bronx Bombers hit a home run is stupid.

I think that tonight's game is a good indication for how the postseason is going to play out.

Yup, they may have peaked at the wrong time and I still don't think the pitching is playoff caliber.
All the good pitching is in the NL.

Farrell ruined a career year with Wright then he ruined the celebration by keeping Kimbrel in to walk 3 when he wasn't even close to the plate.

here's why you do what you do, Dan, even if you can't see it....

Sox are the best team in the AL. what are you, like 26 over .500? forget texas; they beat up on their shitty division. Sox are odds on favorites to win the AL pennant.

Dan is all negative and "woe is us" so that a) he won't have to admit anything less than a pennant is a choke and b) he can keep his "told you so" card in his back pennant.

That's right Memorial Stadium, we would sit out on the bleachers where the seats were wooden. Loved that old place we would have to drive through parts of Bmore coming from the south to get to it. Then park at people's houses for $5 bucks or wherever we could find a spot....great fun.

Yeah I got the places mixed up I've been to Sullivan/Schaefer Stadium in Foxboro and yes the Patriots were bad but strangely exciting. I was just a youngster and just loved that old logo.....which I felt was the best in the NFL.

Over the radio just now heard them mentioned Mo Vaughn was going to be on ESPN Radio. Anyway speaking of Memorial Stadium that's where MV hit his first home run summer June 1991. What a shot it was....I was sitting out there in the bleachers with some friends when Mo crushed one. I remember saying, it's coming over this way....high, deep and to my right. I gave it a chase since it wasn't packed out there. It landed over my head 5 rows from getting out of Memorial Stadium. The ball got trapped under some bleacher seats which gave me no chance to get it. The shot was estimated at around 470 feet, only one man had ever hit it out and that was Frank Robinson. The fan that got the ball didn't want to give it up but I recall attendants walked them away and I believe something was worked out so that Mo could get that ball.

Listen up, you latter-day cockpony, I've been watching this bullpen choke all season long. I expect that. The bats are the strongest in the league, but as the adage goes, pitching wins championships. And nothing would depress me more than to have to say "told you so."

Pessimism as members of Red Sox Nation collectively is totally understandable, and is more than likely going to be the norm for at least the next 15 to 20 years. Those 3 championships didn't do nearly as much as you would think they would have in shifting the mindset of the group as a whole. There's no switch you can "turn off". Learn to live with it.

Nice to see Dustin get to 200 hits.

The pessimism quote is total bullshit.
Everyone I know actually acts thinks the Sox winning is the norm now.
Maybe you should listening ta talk radio in Boston.
The series against the Yanks was tough but also was their world series.
It didn't really mean that much to the Sox.
This team other than Ortiz is young and will be contenders for the next 5 years.

Sunday was special -- that is, until there was another baseball game to lose.

If we lose the ALDS to Cleveland, at least we lose to Tito.

    Fact: Tito > Farrell.

Tito won twice in his first four years with the Sox.
If the Sox win this year that will be two in Farell's first four years with the Sox.
    Those are actual facts.
