. . . and they never make these calls at the end of a playoff game. Never happens. They don't want these games decided by free-throws with no time on the clock.
So I'm guessing you didn't see the way the 2006 western conferencesemis ended?
It's not the first time the Spurs have been on the losing end of questionable calls and it won't be the last. I have no idea why.
Congrats to the Lakers and I'm looking forward to the finals.

Let me rephrase. The NBA and those around it do not want playoff games decided by free throws with time expired. Everyone in the game knows that in the waning seconds, the referees swallow their whistles. You basically have to have a flagrant foul committed for them to call a foul.
As to the Spurs being on the losing side of questionable calls, it's a matter of perspective. Kobe made 29 shots that game and didn't get to the line one time. That is not possible unless the refs are making a conscious decision to let them play. Believe me, up until the last minute of game 4, the calls were going the Spurs' way. Right up to the erronious non call on the 24 second clock resetting. You have to play like you deserve to win, and the SPurs just didn't do it this year like they have in their championship years.

Lakers roll through the very tough West 12-4 while the Celtics struggle to get through the weak East. I'm rooting for the Celtics but the Lakers look way better in the post season.

And I'm rooting for the Lakers, but I am nervous. LA is 1-3 against the Celtics and Pistons this year, and the East has home court. Should be a tough series.

Enjoy that feeling. Honestly, there is nothing better in sports than when your team is fighting for a championship. I find that when it's over and teh championship has been won, the high goes away pretty quickly. It is more of a sense of satisfaction, but the big rush fades pretty fast. It's almost better during the games, when you are nervous as shit and yelling at the tv.

Red Auerbach along with the rest of us will enjoy watching this one. I wonder in this year's predictions did I predict if the Celtics would reach the championship?
